Unless you're running a small supercharger, those 7.0 times are pretty incredible. Care to explain the method for making the times? Are you going to post the video soon?

It works well to just have the on board stopwatch running wihle you film the DIS+tachometer+speedometer. That way you can pause the video right at 3k, look at the time on the DIS stopwatch, then do the same at 8k.

As I said however 7.0 is not far off what APR supercharged cars run.
Haha - no supercharger yet!!

I've dropboxed the videos below and as stated above I took the time from the iPhone video file(s) through my video editing suite (PowerDirector) - your welcome to try them - only think that the temperature was 10C so that might contribute to the above norm times - also floored at 2K so it hit the ground running ;-)

Holy smokes that's insane - that's nearly 2 seconds faster than mine with water meth lol. I really need to look into this power loss.

Have you got any other mods than what's in your sig Gav?

Hey Tony, No other mods apart from a carbon cleaned about 8 months ago... Yes yours should be a lot quicker with water/meth - hope you crack it!! Has it been on a RR?

We have had the RS4 in today and can give you the following results:

Did the emissions to start with, they were really surprisingly low to start with 9HC at fast idle

Dyno was out of action unfortunately (someone borke it on Saturday, but will be back in action tomorrow hopefully)

Final emissions test bought it down to 7HC at fast idle.

We stripped the throttle body and inlet side down to check and it was immaculate before we even did anything, probably because MRC have stripped it down and removed the carbon around 8 - 9 months ago.

I'm sure that the terraclean cleaned the rest of the engine, where MRC guys could not get to, and it bought down the emissions slightly too (even though I did not think it would come much lower than the original figure).

I'm sure Gavin will enlighten us on how it drives post treatment.

p.s. Thank you to Gavin for letting us have the car for the day.

Hi Jags,

Thanks my pleasure - it was good to meet you and your team.

On the plus side for me it's good to know that my engine is in good condition even after several months!

I think we need another volunteer with a car that has never been CC and possibly a high miler with has the potential for carbon build-up! Does the same deal apply to the new volunteer?

On the performance side - not sure if it's a placebo affect but seems to rev freely and seems a bit more responsive - however after jumping from a Smart Car back to mine might have clouded my perception ;-) Still I will be doing some more Arthur tests and will visit MRC at some point next week to look at getting it back on the RR as this has always been my benchmark.

Cheers,
Gavin

P.S. Please can you send me those images on my email address when you get a chance?

7.0 seconds is at least 1.5 seconds faster than the time Audi expect for an RS4 in PERFECT condition, so it just is NOT credible that a standard RS4 (420ps, 430Nm) is producing those times.

Running 7.0 seconds is nothing to do with carbon related power loss, it's about there being some other mods that we're not being told about :bigblink:

Dave, his car is not standard. He has stage 1 manifold, MRC stage 2 remap, Scorpian exhaust, cold air feed and gutted pre-cats. Dyno'd at 447ps.

Hi Gavin,

We'll get the pictures over to you later today / tomorrow morning.

We can do the same deal for another forum member if required.

It would definitely be interesting to see your RR readout after and the new timings.

Speak soon.

Kind regards

Jags

I think somebody asked earlier if he had any other mods than was in his signature and he replied no just a carbon clean. I think you must have interpreted that as not having any mods.

Exactly what I was thinking?

Lots of hot air...but no pics, dyno prints, or more importantly hard evidence?

I call BS unless someone comes up with hard evidence?

Believe me if this terra clean thing works...the audi community will embrace it?....if not close thread now!!!

Even 447ps isn't enough to explain a 7.0 time IMHO, that's 550+ps territory - so I'm with sakimano that there's a supercharger lurking in there.
