What if we all went to AMD and got closer to the OEM figure with their r/r? It wouldn't clear the whole r.r issue up but may make people happier with their cars producing near what is should be. It is after all pretty accurate from memory, I have done a r/r day with them previously as has Oli and the figures were spot on.

Good idea.. but I would fall about laughing if Pippyrips & Raudiguy's cars made 450 ....

I want to see the plots and numbers at the bottom ..... no catted RS4 has ever genuinely made over 400hp.

A 0-100 mph should be a good test

lol the point i was trying to make is i could go to somewhere else again today and get a different result .. my car feels the same now as it did before the rr day ... the only time i can say i seriously noticed a difference with my car was after the map basically felt like the throttle was as responsive as having the s button on before the map. and really noticeable after with the s button on....cheers

Now that made me laugh, I'll bring you a mk5 GTI that can pull away from you and make you go back to the dealership in tears to tell them to fix the car

Yeah I agree, a mapped Edition 30 DSG with milltek and intake, is a good match for an RS4 once rolling, as I found out with my friends recently. My old S3 with 330+BHP, was a match for most things on the road, due to the grip and relatively low weight - Steering feel was terrible though, and didn't get the sense of occasion that you do with the RS.

Oli, my golf runs 420 BHP, dynoed on Surrey RR, and beat the sh|t out of a cab B7 RS4, from a 60mph rolling start to 180mph, I gave him about 10-15 car lengths. Too bad we didn't film this, we did around 10 tests and the outcome was always the same :)

This was done in Germany on a non-restricted Autobahn.

Same power, big weight difference - the expected result.

Er quite an obvious result really!

I would imagine there aren't many cars that can keep up with it, especially once rolling. Are you running an LSD as well?

Interesting to know that such an new engine would suffer coking problems, does most owners only use their cars on short journeys(like 5-10miles each way?), this would cause some coking up problems, but have to admit some of the pics shown were pretty awful considering the age and mileage.
I'm wondering if the owners take their cars on a long motorway run on a regular basis, would that burn off the carbon build up inside the engine?

Dont think so.
Best bet is too thrash the t*ts of it now and again..its what the engine was designed for.

KiN,

It isn't a new engine though is it?

The driving paradigm doesn't make an ounce of difference to the coking issue. Look at the pictures of every single RS4 opened up...

It is an FSI engine with an under-specced oil and a CCV system that doesn't work.

Thats the problem.
