Be confused no more young jedi! lol
Thats why we grafted the B6 rear quarters in to the B7 quarters whilst retaining the RS4 arches. So B7 lights will no longer fit.
The same applies to the front end. As we progress with the reassembly, youll see what i mean from the photos.
We are still painting various parts. Also just discovered that to install the chargecooler, we have to cut more away...and we just painted that part of the car!

So once cut we will have to paint again.
I want to call you a <beep> but you're so convinced of this project working and you're doing such a good job, I just can't.
No matter where you go, there you are.

What BamBam said
Its exactly that, its like why would anyone in their right mind do this, but I also think in some crazy
way it will work.
Either way it will get some attention but you are right keeping the b6 touches or its pointless, but
I do wonder if enough elements will remain to make that noticeable as I'm sure you will have
to use the rs4 bumper and grill.

You guys are hilarious! lol
Maybe i am retarded or crazy for doing such a project....
So externally from the b7 i've kept the RS4 arches, side skirts, lower part of the rear RS bumper. The front bumper & grill is a no go-sorry Jules!
The rest is B6.
The upper parts of the wings along with the rear quarter panel are B6 welded/blended in to B7 RS4 lowers. The same with the rear bumper-Upper B6 S4, lower B7 RS4.
All doors are B6 albeit the rears modified to suit the RS4 arches.
reason for all this is that the swage/body line is different between the 2 cars so had to make it correct to suit the B6.
The front bumper is again another hybrid; B6 S4 upper blended into Votex lower. Not yet sure about using a cupra splitter. Also may use the side vents from the RS4 front bumper, not sure. Try to imagine a B6 with the B5 RS4 look....

So to update, waiting on more parts to arrive so that we can start on putting the running gear(engine and gearbox) back in the car. Hopefully they'll come on sunday.
In the meantime, the doors are all back together, rear lights, rear bumper and side skirts are back on the car. Will be installing the LSD and rear brakes.
Ill post photos shortly.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That makes more sense.
Thought from the photo you'd just bolted the entire rear three quarter on, judging by the weld line highlighted:

Really pleased you have said you are not using the full b7 front, it makes more sense now.
Really taking shape, keep up the good work

Hopefully this will give some indication of the direction we're heading in. With the engine out, there's nothing to show on the front end...yet!

That's some very good and neat work being done there!!
Why carbon boot though? Would it not have been better to try and get the front wings and bonnet in carbon to make the front lighter?
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.
Now - Empty garage
If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Probably more to do with tying in the roof and bonnet being black/carbon. Also, both of these items require strengthening because I'll be doing your mum on this car when it's finished. We're having a dirty weekend away in the middle east.
No matter where you go, there you are.
