Just thought id say my clutch was getting very heavy.. So while i was at audi the other day i asked the tech if it was possible to do it on the drive by taking the engine out..

HA HA HA HA HA ha was his reply no fecking chance... :bash: :bash: :bash: O and if you do not get it done soon you will wreck your gearbox..
We will get you a price if you want,,, to which i laughed back to him as he did to me..

This is when me luck changed i rang up a company i used to work for and they said as i was a star employee they would have a look at it for me. I explained it was not the easiest job to do... I know as you would have done it yourself came the reply..

200 odd pounds for a new clutch fitted.. nice i will get it dropped of tomorrow..

Then the phone call came. This fecking car.. :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:

Its taken hours just to undo the fecking bolts they are all seized like feck.. ( a good feeling mind that the original clutch lasted until 93000 )

Then i heard the bloke working on me car saying he is going to need more than a clutch in the back ground. Hoping he was not talking about rose..... HE was...

The clutch was just down to the rivets.. The release bearing was broken apart ( well the plastic bearing cover totally worn away then it snapped in half)
The flywheel was fecked and i mean there was absolutely no dual mass it was to massive bits of metal that was banging up against each other.

So yeah it was all fecked... so i got it all replaced at cost ... :jump_clap: :jump_clap: :jump_clap: :jump_clap:

The i picked my car up and holy poooooo..... i feel a complete and utter plonka driving it for as long as i did with a fecked clutch.. :knob:

It now really is a complete and utter joy to drive.. I am sure my fuel consumption is going to be so much better now..

SO yeah no pipes for me it was just a well and truely fecked clutch and all the other bits...

I tried to reply to you tony but i could not do it via private message

Can't be bad mate, 93k on the original clutch

What did the total job cost you in the end if you don't mind me asking?

It Cost me around £1000 Pounds all in..
Still got to get a crate or two of beer and some flowers... :biggrin3:

They only did it because i worked there for 6 odd years when i left school..

To be honest if certain main dealers want a gearbox fixing in and around brum they will only use them and charge you more..

I do not know if they would ever touch another one. LOL.... Although i imagine they would this is a link to the company i can only praise how honest they are.....

Thought i would add my experience with this as i too suffer with the dreaded sticky clutch problem, i was recently on a course and took my beloved motor to give it a good run from cornwall to huntingdon, three days in after being at the course and driving 7 miles to get to the training centre each morning, i pull up and reverse into the carp park space as i have done every day previously, with no problems at all.

On this day it was very hot and the sun was shining directly on the bonnet of the car for around 8 1/2 hours,
After finishing for the day i jumped in the car and started up, pulled away fine but when i drove around the first corner (20 yards away) and went to stop at the junction the clutch pedal stayed in as i went to put it into neutral.
Making me think this problem might have something to do with temperature????

I have new clutch pipe to be fitted and flush the system with blue brake fluid while fitting this and new braided lines when i get back from work in a couple week so will see if this helps

anyone got any thoughts on this??
