An RNSE 2010+ for 450 notes? No!

Yep:-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260978998915? ... 712wt_1270

193G version which is the latest one. Made an offer at £450 + £20 postage, should be mine tomorrow!!

Thing is I've just sold my Alpine / Kufatec setup and put my existing RNS-E on eBay, so I could end up in credit :-)

Mine was £499, but not the 'G' version (glossy screen surround), wasn't so keen on the shiny bit. Worth that kind of money for this upgrade, even without selling the old unit I'd say.

But this will or won't work in a C5? I already have a non-2010 RNS-E in it.

Ah, that's what the 'G' is for!! I just assumed the G was a later version so I didn't bother with the 193B, which I now assume means black! D'oh!!!

Hey ho, I'm sure it'll look just fine :-)

Your original assumption was correct.

It just happened that the 2011 version, with the glossy surround, happened to be the G version (see http://audiforum.us/threads/audi-a3-8p- ... bers.6850/):

Tried it today and just got the message "Data corrupted", so it looks like the 2010+ RNS-E only accepts SD and SDHC cards, which makes the limit 32GB and 4000 files per card (still better than the 4GB and 512 files per card of the pre-2010 RNS-E).

Interesting there's a 4,000 file limit, I have a music library with 15gb and that's 15,000 files, so I'm going to have to split them onto 2 cards and this is what I wanted to avoid!!!!

I had the same 'dillemma'...till I realised lots of the 15,000 files were songs I'd NEVER listen to. when you think of it 4000 items is maybe 500 artists/folders ( I believe they count as items against your limit) leaving 3500 songs. So take your 200 favourite bands and take their top 15-20 songs..etc. I did that before when I was limited to 4GB and it helped get more out of the old cards. On here, it's excellent..

Anyone know how to use the 'playlists' feature that shows at the top of the folder options? Can you just flip an Apple iTunes playlist file in there and have it pull from the various folders?

Just download a playlist creater program onto your PC, use that to create some M3U files (make sure the file names are relative and not absolute) and put them into the root folder.

I use Playlist Creator 3 from OddGravity http://www.oddgravity.de/

Here's a sample M3U file that works for me:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:246,Sleeping Bag
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\01 Sleeping Bag.mp3
#EXTINF:214,Stages
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\02 Stages.mp3
#EXTINF:229,Woke Up with Wood
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\03 Woke Up with Wood.mp3
#EXTINF:292,Rough Boy
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\04 Rough Boy.mp3
#EXTINF:184,Can't Stop Rockin'
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\05 Can't Stop Rockin'.mp3
#EXTINF:246,Planet of Women
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\06 Planet of Women.mp3
#EXTINF:210,I Got the Message
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\07 I Got the Message.mp3
#EXTINF:212,Velcro Fly
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\08 Velcro Fly.mp3
#EXTINF:194,Dipping Low (In the Lap of Luxury)
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\09 Dipping Low (In the Lap of Luxury).mp3
#EXTINF:221,Delirious
.\ZZ Top\Afterburner\10 Delirious.mp3

You can export playlists from iTunes, then edit them and with a quick search and replace to reflect the directory structure.. Ie, remove c:\users\name\music with just a \

I also found that my files are under 2,000 as I'd counted my iTunes library, most of which is album art!

brilliant, thanks

p.s. you could have given me about 120 guesses...and I would never have guessed ZZ Top would be one of your playlists.
