The OE kit is definitely L shaped as have one in my arm-rest (Avant) if anyone needs the PN let me know.
I've got the L shaped one in my saloon's armrest, fits fine.
Anyone know if the Saloon first aid kit is "L" shaped too?

An excellent tip from RS4414 on how to remove the honeycomb grilles in front of the auxilliary radiators:
The honeycomb grills just pull out with a good tug...very easy..clean out...then they just clip back on...simples!!

I clean mine out every month...all kinds of debris gets in there!!!
Any particular technique to pulling out the grilles?
I use the old...."as many fingers "hooked" into the grill and just pull technique" if that makes sense!! lol..

Seriously just get your fingers into the grilles and pull...the plastic is quite flexible so dont worry about breaking anything.

To replace them you need to clip them around the foglight first then push the other side in...ensuring the clips snap into place...

Me being quite anal about cleaning my car it gives me an excuse to wash the grilles, treat them..and also wash the paintwork around the grilles you cant normally clean... Confused

Sad i know!!!!

Just bumping this thread as there appear to be several new owners at the moment.

Here's my contribution: for dogs, bikes, shovels, you name it: get a Hatchbag to completely protect your Avant's boot. They're not cheap, sound a bit like 'handbag' but after using one for eighteen months I think it's great. If anyone is vaguely interested I'll take a photo of mine in situ. Very tidy job indeed and you'll forget it's there if you order black.
