Ah, well i have now been advised TODAY that it will be in the UK middle of MARCH, as my dealer is the SECOND IN EUROPE to order this tool.

God knows what is gong on. So, any chance you can ascertain whether they have the GAS or OIL pressurising tool? By the way, my dealer used the WRONG tool initially.

I take it you did have oil leeking from your shock they replaced and its not as simple as a anti roll bar bush that needs changing? Either that or as i keep repeating, they dont know how to reacharge the system. And how come they have been recharging and replacing the drc on the Rs6 for the last few years if they dont have the tools to do it?

The method to bleed the hydraulics on RS4 DRC is different to RS6 DRC; from some of the earlier posts on here it looks like the dealers have been using the older DRC repair kit and it not bing suited to the newer DRC in the B7 RS4. Hence repeated problems as if you aint got all the air out your buggered, time to start again. just my 2p from previous experience of 6No DRC repairs a couple pof years ago (my DRC was fine after dealer learning from repeated attempts and has been trouble free for a couple of years since).

I already posted this message to another thread but here it goes again: I have had same kind of problems with my car for at least 6 months now. I got frustrated because they just couldnt get it fixed so I changed the entire suspension to bilstein PSS9. No knocking noises anymore and the car feels great. You can easily adjust the stiffness and ride height is also adjustable.

If you go this route do you effectivley bin all the DRC bits?

I had my car in at Aberdeen Audi this morning, they have confirmed that the two front shocks need replacing but they're adamant that they do not need to be replaced diagonally and won't be replacing the rears. Does this sound right, as it goes against some of the opinions I've read on here. (Should also mention that they managed to use 2/3rds of a tank of fuel in "roads tests", then returned my car with 5miles remaining on the DIS and never managed to fix anything. Grrr)

Ask them "Given that you have found a fault in both front shocks necessitating their replacement, but not their diagonal counterparts, i presume that the fault you have found is NOT connected to leakage or any loss of pressure in the system?" (CODE: they need to justify why they are NOT replacing the diagonal counterparts, and the central DRC valve).

Cheers, will give that a try. Not sure how far I'll get unless I take it to another dealership. These guys are a bunch of money grabbing cowboys.

Jupu, what spec PSS9s did you use on the B7 RS4, and is your car an avant or a saloon? I understand that B5 RS4, C5 RS6 and B6/B7 S4 have different PSS9 specs, and there are also different PSS9s for avant/saloon (but I could be wrong).

Thanks.

Its a saloon. I really dont know what spec it is because it was ordered directly from bilstein by my local bilstein distributor. It took couple of days before it was shipped from Germany because they said that Bilstein assembles the whole package spesifically for B7 RS4 Saloon.

I was told the same as both my fronts have just been replaced.

Not heard of a lack of kit to replace the shocks though. Camberley Audi said they re-pressured all shocks to 15bar so i guess they have the correct kit.
