Christ - In part this thread is like an old mans club meeting

Audi owners are just the funniest crowd, I think that for the traditional Audi Owners releasing the car in Blue/Yellow is a mistake. It makes it stand out, just like a Noggy Old RS4 and Missano Old RS4 do.

"The car needs to look understated like the old one" come on guys, don;t order it in red, yellow or blue!!

The car guys - looks awesome, it is yet another great design statement from Audi. It makes up for where the RS6 looked too Dull, and hopefully for the old RS4's technical limitations.

The seats, dash, interior, wheels, brakes, front end, back end - all look awesome.

the minute this car hits the road all previous RS cars will look dated, again!

Personally I would have one but am going to have a 911 Turbo in the gap until the RS4 + is launched. The RS4 + has to happen for all of the reasons you guys have pointed out around limited special editions etc.

And no turbo's pah! come on guys - ever been out in an integra type r?

I also think the + will have turbos though.

Personally the images gave me the "I must order one"... and in Red!

Can I suggest that we all take a few chill pills, await the showrooms, have a play, look at other colours - see the avant, etc. and then pass judgement.

Not much chance of this JR but if they review it and it drives better than a GT3 I'm sure even you might have a second look!

I really was supprised to see the response on here...

take care all!

Takes all sorts to make a world I guess ;) As I said, if you currently own an RS4 its much harder to part with it and buy the Max Power B7RS4

The S4 is priced to compete with the M3 and I must say having driven a recent M3 I would take my B6 S4 everytime. The RS4 has to be 'better' than the M3, especially the V8 one due late next year. Trouble is Audi's RS cars are difficult to compare against because they are in their own little price points. That makes them either expensive or cheap depending on your perspective.

For me to sell an 03 well specced S4 for under £25k and have to pay out more than double for the RS4 is maddness. By not having the Avant available for quite some time, Audi have saved me the trouble and I am not scratching my head about new S6 and RS6. Love Quattro but the RS4's price, lack of Avant for now and likely dire range kill it for me. I'd much prefer to sell one of my other cars and have two B6 S4's for the money.
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.

I agree that certain aspects of the new RS4 are disappointing namely
- the fact that the Avant is'nt available from launch, I like many believe that true RS Audis are Avants.
- the looks of the car are awkward from particular angles, particularly the rear.
- why doe'snt it have four exhaust pipes?
- the fact that it does'nt appear to be a limited edition.

Things I do like are the interior, wheels, seats etc.
Pricing wise I think the RS4 will be priced at just under £50k with a seriously optioned car costing well over £50k.

I await the first driving reports with interest.

Ive been ruined...Porsche have ruined me i dont think i will ever be the same again..
I am hoping that the Avant is more interesting looking and has capped numbers, otherwise its looks like i could be jumping ship for good.

johnroberts, sorry this off-topic, but do you own a 996 GT3 ? and also a RS4 B5 ? If so....

I know they cannot be compare!!, but i would like to ear from a onwer of both the biggest differences in track of these 2 great cars, if you don´t mind :) Not also in terms of times per laps, but also in terms of cornering, braking!!, acceleration, pleasure.....give me your opinion, please!. Assuming both are stock one, because i see in your signature thar your Rs4 is far away of being stock :D

Thanks in advance!,

Regards,

This thread is funny. I have had mine on order for over 18 months and I am delighted with the new RS4 pictures and spec.

I got a call from Audi this week and I am top of the list for a new RS4 Avant. Expected delivery Dec 05 to Jan 06.

Yes - it will be Nogaro.

I know that lots of people like Nogaro but to me S and RS series Audis' are all about discrete speed. Choose a dull colour, don't clean it much and do not have a memorable number plate. Then just get where you are going quickly. I have other cars for fun whereas the S4 is a functional vehicle whatever the weather. and its great!

Enjoy your RS4 but don't forget to fill up every 200 miles.

Great! hope you are very happy with it... dont get me wrong i love Audis and i wait with baited breath for the first pictures of the Avant.... But the saloon just aint for me... The Saloon will sell very well in USA but i still think us europeans prefer the Avant, and also we like to feel that we have somthing special, and not seen on every street corner, i really hope they cap the RHD numbers of the Avant, it will make the car definately more desirable.

Just to say i no longer have my RS4 and have recently purchased a 996GT3CS MKII and loving every minute of it, although i would consider buying a RS4 again if its what im after, but as a journlist friend of mine said the other day the new RS4 is not for you or I,the last real RS cars have been made!
Cheers

Interesting to read all the posts from you current RS4 owners.
I currently have a RS6 avant and am looking forward to seeing a new RS4 Avant. However, I dont know if I want to wait till this time next year for a new car.
In the meantime, there is nothing to match the '6 to give me practicality and performance IMHO !
I have spoken to my local dealer and will await prices and details of the saloon first and then the Avant.
Wonder if they will do " a guaranteed buyback " on a saloon for an avant  Mmmm !!! :thumb:
