Are these easy to fit? or would it be a mechanic only job?
also does your car need mapping again, due to the change in airflow etc, I really want one now:) did not think the car could sound any better!!
yeah really easy to fit! can do it with a basic tool kit in under a hour being generous! get it done you wont regret it :beerchug: don't forget a 6mm bolt to block off the vacuum hose for the air box flap.

Took me around an hour. Hardest part is removing the OE air box as its a little fiddly and you have to use some "persuasive force" to pull it out. Its not hard just need to be patient when removing the OE bits and then tweak the CF air box to fit. This took me a little while to get lined up, but again just be patient and you'll be fine

Im not aware of any car needing re-mapping, however YoungBen has had MAF Sensor issues which could be down to the Oiled Cone filter screwing the MAF sensor.

Ben - have you tried cleaning the MAF with MAF cleaner? Made a difference to mine. I actually cleaned all the oil out of the filter element because I could see the amount of crud that was getting deposited in the intake pipe.

My main issue with the revolution intake is stress cracks in the corner by the headlamp.

Thanks :)
I will see what the damage is for the works at AMD this week for my pads+discs and providing its not too bad, I think I will get one,
Has anyone got a decent video/sound of one?
cheers

I have cleaned it twice now with super clean alcohol spray not MAF cleaner. To be honest i cant see it being much different. I have washed out all the filter though because as you say there is a film of residue on the inside of my pipes. I have no doubt now that this is what has killed both MAF sensors.

I have noticed cracked also! Its not the strongest made product. It could of done of being re-enforced where all the fixing points are.

Hi all

Great to hear our kit getting such good feed back, I'm glad you all like it.

For those of you that are still wanting to get their hands on a kit I have 1
with very slight damage to the underside of the carbon that I can do at a
bit of a discount and I have some new kits coming in soon so don't despair
there are still plenty to go around :-).......

Just give me a shout if you want one.

Ben,
have you had any further progress with this either from Pipercross or Glen @ Revolution? I ask as I am about to replace my MAF sensor, as like you Im getting the MIL on and DTC P0101 MASS OR VOLUME AIR FLOW CIRCUIT RANGE/PE

have had in-depth comms with AmD and they have put the map that they tailored to my car back on their Dev RS4 and its running fine, and that's with a standard air box. Im a little concerned that there are now 2 of us having the same issue and hope that either Revolution or Pipercross step up to the plate and assist where possible. At £135 a pop I am loathed to go down the road of changing MAF after MAF :bash:

I got emailed from Pipercross on Wednesday saying my new dry filter will be with me within a week so just a waiting game now. The kit from what i gather is a kit made by Pipercross and Glen is just a supplier? but obviously this means if it was purchased through Revolution then the problem should be taken out with them in regards to warranty. Like i may of said oil is a know trouble maker with some MAF sensors and may just so happen that ours is one of those that don't like it! Im soon to buy my 3rd MAF because of the issue and im not best pleased about it if im honest :(

Hi Ben
Thanks for the update mate. Im assuming you didn't purchase yours via Revolution, however as its their kit / design I guess it should fall to them to sort as a warranty issue. I'll PM Glen and see what the score is as if Pipercross have modified the existing filter to a dry one then I'd like to think that anyone who hs had this MAF issue would be supplied one FOC :thumb:

I can't see the point in this air box and the money they cost, with no real gains, apart from induction noise, CAF is money better spent I reckon

For me the price is easily justified for the looks and sounds. Matches the carbon cover on the other side.

Anyone know what filter is supplied with the proper one of these kits i.e Gruppe M :?:

I'd also hope that Revolution would step up to this if the filter supplied with the replica kits is causing a MAF issue. I assume they've been made aware? Fair play to AMD though for sticking through Louie's problems and getting to the bottom of it.

All's well when handing over the reddies, but you only get to know a companies true colour when the fan turns brown.
