Well here it is...
Re: Well here it is...
I purchased mine outright too,but im not so sure i will ever be in a position to do that with a new or nearly new one! or for that matter want to! If i saw say 55k leave my account and knew full well 7k of it went down the drain the same day for driving it off the forecourt is something my commen sense and financial sense would not allow.I work on buying a good depreciating car well and at the right time in the depreciation curve to limit my undue financial expose to my car habit!
Re: Well here it is...
Hmm some shocking spelling there sorry haha speed typing doh
Re: Well here it is...
BTW - I'm not talking about forum members, I'd be shocked if many users on here didn't buy their PJ's outright. I'm talking about the bulk of the new RS4 purchases will be job package/salary sacrifice cars, ne? This is my assumption, a lot of people I know that change high-end cars every time they sneeze, these all tend to be leased 3+23.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Well here it is...
Just got the Autocar mag and I can't see anything in there to make me want to part with £60k+ (you can buy a new car with no toys)! I was looking forward to 'wanting' this car but now I feel a little deflated. I've not bothered with an RS5 drive yet but listening to the general word here it's not going to light your fire and if the B8 is similar then it’s going to under inspire.
Could the B7 RS4 be the last of Audi actually inventing a desirable fast 4-door saloon?
RS5, B8 RS4, TTRS, RS3 all seam to fall short of what the B7 achieved. Are we just spoilt with the B7? Are we all just going to have to wait and see what the B9 comes out as?

Does this make a RS4 B7 saloon the one and only. The last of the great saloons.
Re: Well here it is...

That sounds a cool bit of kit.
Re: Well here it is...
Are those pics..official Audi?..it says quattro world on them??
The pics have been doctored...its sat way to high...and the arches are cack. Bet more pics will come out and show it in a better light.
Different wheels are needed.
I think more photos will come out and show it in a better light.
Come on guys...youd have one in a flash....same engine that we all rave about...Gearbox with quicker shifts that make car quicker...more power...centre diff...ceramics..a proper "avant"...its got buckets FBSW...better NAV and media..bigger car..
I know i would..just not brand new i could never afford it..but i couldnt afford my B7 brand new either(although i did pay 40k when it was 18 moths old)...i would never spend that sort of money on a new car when you can get one a year or two old...with thousands off.
You let some other mug take the hit initaially any way...be loads of Audi Uk fully loaded ones hitting the market when the novelty wears off...
The B7 as good as it is is getting older...the rose tinted specs need to come off and im afraid the motoring world moves on...and so does technology.
We havent got a 4.0t or 3.0 S/C nowt we can do..they will sell..like hotcakes end of story...
Just my 2 pence worth.

Re: Well here it is...
If I was given one in exchange then maybe. In all seriousness... it'd have to be around the 30k mark fully loaded in terms of trading in the current one for me to consider it.
Yes the same engine so nothing to add there. it only cost me a couple 'k to match the output of the new car and have a beter sounding exhaust as an extra bonus.
Gearbox maybe quicker but on the road I prefer a good old fashioned manual. Sure, on track I do like my flappy paddle but for me it's about driver involvement not ultimate speed.
Centre diff - I bet 99% of people couldn't tell if it had one or not.
Ceramics - overkill for the road. Nice if you have a car with them on but wouldn't spend 6k+ specing them.
Avant - I kinda prefer the saloon look but admit an avant would be useful.
Better nav - slightly faster and better gfx. As long as it gets me to where I'm going don't really mind if it's black and white.
Media - I've got the same ipod playlist as I did about 3 years ago so again, as long as it plays that then I'm happy.
Ok, a bit ott and yes I'm sure it'll be a fine car. But it should be a great car - both the B5 and B7 were stunning when they hit the ground and I know different people like different things it's just, well, dunno... this had so much potential. The big question here is for most existing B7 owners is the new one worth 40k+ to upgrade to the B8 when there's so much similar to the B7.
As for selling like hotcakes... tricky one. There's a lot more competition around in terms of the Merc AMG's Estate (with ALOT more power but more expensive) and the E92 M3 is a fine car too (faster and cheaper). New M3 due in 2014 so the RS4 isn't going to have a whole load of time.

Re: Well here it is...
I'm not a fan either! Doesn't look aggressive enough, the wheels look pish and the exhausts are far too big. I quite like the centre console though but the rest can get tae. Glad I've got the B7!!
Re: Well here it is...
Just because something is newer and higher tech it does not follow that it is better. We will have to wait and see and try before we buy.
Re: Well here it is...
I would say lets see whatit like after a few of us hav had a test drive i remember the first drive in the B7 didn't like the fact you had to ring it's neck to get the best out of it compared to the turbo boost of the B5 but now i love the rush at 5500 rpm and pushing it to 8000 the B7 grew on me after few more drives and a good blast in Golichs care back to back with the B5 sold it for me the handling was so much better than the B5 so lets see how th B8 fares before we right it off but first glance it's not a looker
