I am not a boffin but I think the few percent improvement would make little difference - you wouldn't worry about replacing front pads/discs but not back for example Be interesting to hear if MRC are adjusting the bias on Danny's car when he has the ceramics fitted although probably this is all controlled by an ECU now & just takes care of itself...

Ceramics I went to buy were chipped so we didn't buy them now going to have to wait on nudenuts verdict on his rs6 setup before I go movit I'm also waiting on a reply from movit on the fitting options etc also! Shame really I was looking forward to them turned my disappointment into joy cars off for a nice new progressive nos kit install this weekend :)

NOS is bonkers - helped a friend fit a basic kit to a bike, the NOS man said had never had a customer he couldn't give enough power too ! Is quite addictive he went from a 50 shot (Fireblade) to 150 shot (Hayabusa) over a few years. Don't expect the first bottle to last you very long !

It's for conservative use only ha apparantly it should clean out the intake ports if it's used now and then

Is there now evidence to support that Danny? I know some of the US guys had used NOS after water / meth hadn't worked but it was being suggested that the injectors and set up used was not optimal hence why it had no cleaning effect?

You guys - that is the best excuse for NOS ever !

PG I am no expert but can try to explain what little I know. Basically there are wet & dry NOS systems - the wet systems are more traditional & inject extra fuel in with the NOS - BTW NOS doesn't burn it just liberates a load of O2 which does support the burning of more fuel, N which resists detonation & cooling as it is pressurised. The dry systems which are easier to install just add NOS & then tell the ECU to squirt more fuel in - there is a LOT more to it than that but it isn't exactly rocket fuel or solvent as far as I know, just a way to provide lots of dense air into the combustion chamber.

What shot are you going for Danny in your conservative set up ?

The last time an owner on the board fitted a NOS system, it all went quiet not long afterwards....

IIRC, he went to Fighting Torque and because the system is phased out at high rpm, there wasn't much benefit during a drag race because most of the time revs will be greater than 5000+ anyway.

Not sure what MRC reckon the torque limit of B7 rods are, but I'm not sure you're going to see much benefit on an already supercharged car?

Just being greedy I reckon.

It's a wet system I'm going for and ofcourse it's going to benefit a supercharged more than an na car due to it dropping the charge temperature dramatically therefore giving a stronger boost! Don't think there's any evidence about it cleaning the ports but Doug reckons it will help so that's enough for me! I've spent hours on the phone with regards to rods and I was told that nos won't put any more stress on the rods high Rpms put the rods under stress so instead of 8250rpm i imagine it will be dialled back to maybe 7750rpm Trevor at Won is the best in the world at these things so I'm putting my faith in him it also has the progressive max extreme controller so the system will work exactly when Doug and Trevor decide it will have a benefit I guess? Anyone care to shed any light? Im also buying a launch control module for the car

Can't help much as only played around with a dry system, I think wet is more highly regarded as extra fuel is injected as well as NOS so less chance of a any problems.

NOS has a bad rep mostly from films rather than actual experience, the main risk is detonation from not enough fuel but being wet that risk is minimised, a good set up properly installed the only problem you should have is how long the bottle lasts...

Am not sure about purging think that is only for the serious 1/4 milers - looks great though + would scare anyone nearby !

Just spent the last 25minutes on the phone to Won! they have an rs4 with 150hp jets and it runs superb they seem to know the engine so I'm confident it will be all good! I'm only adding 25-50hp jets there going to test both and do some logs for me then call me to decide which is best! The maxx extreme controller allows the nos to be adjusted in seconds so the nos may come into play in certain gears under certain throttle load and at certain Rpms time will tell I suppose

If anyone is interested I have an extra set of used discs with hats. You can have either the discs , the discs with hats or just the hats.
The point would be that if you`re running 380 mm discs you can bolt those on to the set of extra hats and be able to revert to 365mm discs faster and without needing to wait for bolts (the bolts that keep the rings on the hats are one time use).

I never tried group buy but it seems exciting. Especially for this all brakes conversation. Anyway I would like to ask if the ceramic pads is good for a drilled and slotted disc, or do i choose the regular one.
