Dropped my avant in last week to Kings Lynn Audi for a DRC check and they replaced all 8 coil packs and my oil cooler pipes free of charge. Only found a light misting on the shocks mind so they dont think they need replacing. by the way to any RS owners in Norfolk I have to say Kings Lynn Audi were excellent to deal with and lent me an A5 2.7 Tdi S-line coupe and valeted my car even though my car is well out of warranty and my bill was zero.

Got her back from Audi yesterday, no coil packs replaced.

Was informed that other cars were up for coil packs, but they had been changed before with spurious parts and there not allowed replace them.

I wasnt going settle this time so I rang Audi uk and spoke to really nice that understood my situation, and agreed that my coilpack code is in the affected batch and could not understand why Audi blackburn did not do the workshop action 2 weeks ago when it was in for a service. The guy said he would speak to them and I was to call blackburn later in day to book it in. I rang back and it was amazing how helpfel they were and how they knew about the workshop action and I should book it in asap  .

So all booked in at last, fingers crossed it will be all sorted.

Its been a long day but here goes

After all the messing about ive had I thought my visit to the dealer was going to be no probs, they check the pack find the" C code coils " and get them changed all sorted, how wrong was I.

I get a call last night asking why ive got my car booked in for this recall as my car is not covered . I thought great start, told the woman I wanted to speak to the guys I arranged the checkup, she says hes the one that told her to phone me. So speaks to guy and he remembers me says no problem bring it in, great stuff.

Get a call today from service manager saying my car isnt covered and they wont do it, im thinking WTF. I ask him if they have checked the coils and says its not covered as its not the right chassis number. I repeated myself again have you checked the coils he starts with this <beep> that all coilpacks from car to car and would not confirm if they were C Code or not. :knob:

So contact Audi uk and speak to a woman in customer services and I explain my situation and that car not covered but has the affected coils in blah blah blah. She then starts to tell the same story that its not covered, when I tell her that I have the C CODE coils she says its not the coil number its the chassis number that affected , what a mong are these people for real. I told I wanted it sorted and I wont settle until it is , she says they will be in touch tomorrow.

Anyway being pissed with the service manager for talking ballocks I went to the local dealer tonight after my wife had picked the car up , spoke to the guy on reception about all hassle ive had, big boss man is walking past guy explains to him my situation and the boss apologises for all the mix up service hadnt realised audi uk had been involved when I booked it in. Then said we will replace all 8 coils so they are all genuine audi free of charge bring it in saturday we will do it as you wait :biggrin3:

What a result, its been a pain in my arse but got the job done in the end.
