Good luck with your car mate, i love them and i know they have had a few issues but so has the RS4!!!!!!!!!!. I still use many car forums, Scoobynet mostly as i was heavily into Scooobys before this car, its even worse over there for people getting new cars, lol.

There is a guy over there on scoobynet called John Banks(Scottish as well) and he is heavily into the GT-R, what he doesnt know is not worth knowing and i think pippyrips also asked his advice before purchase.

I practically used all my money to have this car and love it, although at the back of my head i think is there something going to go wrong, you are ok in that sense as you will have a warranty for 3 years to sort anything out.

Enjoy the car and keep us posted on your impressions.

Spot on Mac, I honestly can't wait. It'll need to be good to beat the overall experience of my RS4. It really was / is a great car.

You've got one then have you?

I've bought a three month old one, so yes it is covered by the three year warranty. However, having looked through it, it really is a legal nightmare. There are complaints elsewhere that your warranty is void if you drive without traction control on for example!! Reading the document, it does say "during the period where VDC is off" so that I think I'm covered!! and it does specifically say that VDC should only be disengaged when stuck in snow / mud!! What the guy did with the car during it's three months and 2.5k miles is a wee bit of a concern / mystery tho. I'll see if I can hunt out this guy you mention and ask him about the warranty coverage. Thanks again. :beerchug:

Today was the big day folks :-)

Trusty RS4 is no more. There was a (very!) sleepless night last night and quite a few doubts during the long drive to Glasgow this morning.

The drive home was loads of fun tho :-)

No regrets so far and lots of relief to be honest.

Sorry for the quality of the pics. The new car is grotty after three and a half hours in the rain.

The GTR really will have to be good to be a match for the RS4.

Nice one, these cars are beasts on the track, how you finding its size, as they do dwarf the B7 in comparison.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Sonny, while there's no denying it's a big car it really doesn't feel it when you drive it, its like the Tardis in reverse!

After watching it back again my biggest concern is what he had stored on his musicbox

Yeah sonny, it is indeed a bigger car. I spent all of yesterday with the strimmer clearing the sides of the lane to our house as the undergrowth was sometimes touching both sides of the car on the way through whereas the RS4 only maybe hit one side if you weren't paying attention.

As Pippyrips says, when you're actually on the road it doesn't feel that big to me. Maybe because the cabin is a bit smaller and you feel a bit more enclosed due to the shape of the body and lack of glass. The bonnet seems much longer though and because you sit lower you can't see the end of it so well! Using any excuse to go for a spin at the moment and haven't stopped grinning yet :-)

I'll do a few words later on as a proper comparison.
