They should have made a M3 Touring, that would have been popular.

Not making an M3 Touring is IMHO a big mistake, the market for RS Avants has always been significant and BMW are just ignoring those potential sales.

I used to work next to a BMW dealer and decided to wind them up just after the current M3 was launched by going in and asking them to contact me when the M3 Touring was available to order. When they said there wasn'y going to be one I told them they had just lost a sale.

i'm the owner of a rs4 b7.My previous car (TOTALED) was a e46 m3.Both are superb cars:m3-sharp,light,nervous,involving; RS4-powerfull,exact,indestructible.In my lucky case-very fun and enjoyable rs4 cause i have full milltek ehxaust valved,non resonated and remaped-very good gadget to enjoy the car-without it probably i will miss the m3...
in terms of looks-m3 e46>rs4>m3 e92
Performance:rs4=m3 e92>m3 e46.There is no comparison between rs4 and m3 e46 in terms of performance.I tested both with similar tools:m3 e46(stock),2003,110.000 km:13.58s 1/4 and 5.5s 0-100 km/h....... rs4(ehxaust+remap),2007,70.000 km:12.8s 1/4 and 4.38s 0-100 km/h.
Handling; i have a guess-m3 e46 with 400 hp will have the same track ring time like rs4...
Overall-rs4 it's a better car and m3 is more atractive... i love both but i love v8+milltek sound+montagne rousse acceleration of rs4..
by the way mine is white with red leather...you have to love'it or hate'it.Ilove this car!!!!! and the next car will be a r8 not a new m6...

I actually like the interior, however I think the gear knob and steering wheel should have been left black.
