cant comment on that P-G, as i did not use the rs in the recent snow. but agree it would be interesting to know how they performed.

Is that comment specifically about snow, or the tyres in general? I normally run near 40 all round, and have just changed to Vredesteins - do you recommend a pressure drop?

I always run 0.2 bar higher than the pressures recommended, slight compromise on comfort but always ready for spirited driving

does running the tyre pressure slightly higher also help if you do mostly around town driving as it does not wear the side walls of the fronts so much?? reason i ask a fella i know who has a porsche does it and says it helps

PS2 not anything special in the snow... got caught off guard with the first snowfall and sliding in unwanted directions was too easy

The winter tyres are a lot more confidence inspiring and practically useful.... it was happy dragging itself along the snow when we had it deep, neighbours jaws suitably dropped

The recent warm/dry-ish weather leaves me looking forward to putting the PS2 back on though, the winter tyres are feeling a bit limiting.

I'm on PS2s and had no problems in the snow earlier this year when all the cars around me were stuck I just drove straight past them.

Have to admit that the F1s I had last year were better in the snow though.

I've just bought an RS4 B7 and will be collecting it next week so hello to everyone.

Just to add my comments about the F1's - they're suberb and I had two sets on my old TT. Amazing wet grip, good ride and low noise with the same life as my old Conti 3's. However, I did notice that the performance fell off significantly when one of them got got low on tread. Anyone else notice this?

It may just be that I had a duff one on the left front (this was always the one that spun) as I bought it from a cheap merchant I wouldn't use again (they also supplied one that virtually couldn't be balanced and had to be replaced). If this is a one-off I can't recommend them enough though.
