Hmm, not sure where the greed in oil consumption comes from, certainly no-one I know of has that problem? But I'm sure they do.

Can I also clear one thing up that seems to have invoked a car slagging match? Not once, have I shouted down the RS. Sure, announced my disappointment in some of it's weaker points which let's face it, should not be there, but for all those faults, I still like it, so any chance the banter can remain friendly?

LOL! Oil consumption you say? My other half texted last night "what does the oil light mean?" Her friend has owned a 1.2 CDTi Corsa for 2 months and bought it new, it's consuming oil quicker than China!

Just about every car I've ever owned has had some problem or another, whether it's got 80bhp or 480bhp, non-turbo, turbo or twin turbo, petrol or diesel. etc. etc.

Maybe I'm just unlucky.. :(

Well having had 911's, M3's, TVR's and quite a few others I can say without fear of contradiction that the RS4 has been the biggest pain in the ass! My Griffith spent less time off the road than my RS4 and though nothing catastrophic has occured its annoying as hell. Now I use my cars, by that I mean I drive them distances so my RS4 has covered around 30K in 15 months and in that time its been with Audi for 6 or 7 weeks. Crap no matter how you spin it and we are still not clear on how Audi will resolve my issues though we are clear that they need to make me happy and currently the way I am feeling the best way to do that is take my fecking car back and let me wash my hands of it!

Really sorry to hear that, however two colleagues have had both TVRs and Audis and there experience is the opposite to yours - their TVRs spent as much as 50% of the time in the garage having not very good attempts at repairs done.

Cars are such complex pieces of machinery I guess it's inevitable that there will be some "lemons" of every make.

[quote="PetrolDave"][quote="Housemaster"]Well having had 911Yep, I had two TVR Cerberas in the late nineties, both bought new and the second one cost me 52k which is a lot now, never mind then. I had to have it revovered to the dealer more than once, had the technician out to my house too, got stuck on a busy roundabout with it when it was two weeks old - and people LOVE that, makes them feel SO good as they drive past in their repmobiles laughing! I was lucky though - talking to other owners on track days many had had engines replaced. I also had Griffs and Chimeras as loan cars (often!) and had problems with them too! Then came the faultless (mine anyway) AMG's, and I suppose the Audi will fit somehwere between the two extremes, though I haven't had mine long enough to have any problems or much of an opinion to be fair.
