I picked the car up last week Saturday, 18th, and have already done 750 miles, just can't stop driving the damn thing. I am averaging 18 mpg at the moment, very gentle driving. I did a round trip to Birmingham and back, 230 miles in total on 3/4 tank fuel. The journey up was mostly on cruise control 80-85 mph, but on the way back to London, I did take a few liberties with her. Overall, not bad considering it is a 500bhp V10.
My test drive of 30 mins, came out @ 12 MPG!! I ran a Mile.

seems you did well at both ends there but surprised no one has mentioned the shocking depreciation of the M car and the opposite on the RS4

I have come out of my RS4 recently as well. My car was march 07 fully loaded, cost me £ 54K new, sold it December 2007 with 5K on the clock and got back £ 50K. I picked up an E60 M5 two weeks ago, June 07 with under 2K miles - the car is listed at £ 77K, and I paid £ 54,750.
Enjoy running that one mate..... I had one for a week on demo and no matter how carfully I drove it i couldn't get more than 18.9 MPG. the norm seems to be 15 hence me going for the RS which I get 23 from not amazing but 160 mile out of a full tank on an M5 is a joke. Great car though.....
Current car..... hmmmmm????
