To answer some questions i saw in this topic, yes i have a RS4 V8 ehh sorry my wife's car,
( I sold our car AND her Cooper S works...she was not so happy.. ) but i may "use" the RS4 now :D

Yes i was also @ the "Ring" on sunday, i love her even more, the RS4 ;-). I wasn't there for a while and the
first time with the RS4, wow what a car !! In the afternoon when it was most dry with a lot of traffic we did 8.39min.
No it wasn't me you came across on the track Paul, there were some more dutch Daytona RS4's.
Picture of mine below. Saw you driving several times on and around the track. Sorry couldn't speak with you.
It was nice to speak with Varsity, you have a very nice "tdi", i like the completely dark style of your car.
The exhaust system is de-catted with standard valved back-system. I remapped it and switched off the 2nd Lambda's.
The cats(4) are original metal cats so there was not much improvement (3bhp).
But the sound is much better so , with standard valved back-system full open in modified Sport-mode.
So it can also be quiet in normal-mode, remember it's my wife's car ;-)

Jeroen
Jeroen, you may be right as looking at that photo i don't recall the Dutch Daytona saloon in question sitting quite so low as yours, so perhaps it was a different car. TBH even without the B5's, i was surprised just how many B7 RS4's in various shapes & forms i saw last week. We had a stunning special order Pearl White Avant in our Scuderia Group, that i think was from Finland.

Had a great time. Wish we'd had time to chat.

As for the re-map question, i'm going to investigate further this valve & throttle issue, as i'd hope sometime soon that DMS would be able to offer this (not asked them yet), given it's now an obvious issue & only appears to have been overcome in the last few weeks.
The special order white was Suzuka Grey!

My car had the maps as per the above, however as I chose the non-valved Miltek, now removed awaiting a new system, this facility wasn't required.

You would have thought that all good tuners knew this!

:bigwave:
I'm sure while i was chatting to him the actual colour name had the word white in it. Was very similar to VW Candy White but a tad darker.

As for the maps, i'm sure all good tuners do NOW know this, but if MRC have only been aware for 8weeks, it's fair to say it's a recent thing. As said, perhaps DMS are already working on it, but i'm defo keen to find out as it sounds like a good step forward. The de/sport cat is not an issue for me as i've no intention of changing the front exhaust sections, so my car will be staying as it is.

Have you heard a valved vs non valved Miltek?? as i'm keen to have an idea of the sound difference. I went valved & resonated as i wanted to retain the S button, plus as my daily driver/cruiser, i did not want to go overboard with the volume increase.

Deciding now the options are becoming infinate, which is great for the consumer, if perhaps a tad confusing :)

Here's some Dyno plots showing the before and after remap in 3rd and 5th gears.

The upper set of lines are the Trq and the lower lines running from bottom left to top right are the Hp.

The light blue Trq line shows the original Trq in 3rd gear.
Notice the sudden jump at 5400 rpm, this is the throttle bodies opening from 50-60 % to 100%.

The Dark blue line is the Trq after the remap, you can see how much smoother it is.
Also you can see that the Trq between 2000-5600rpm is around 34 Nm more.

The green and red lines are the Trq in 5th gear. Here you can see the Trq is around 15-20 Nm higher at the higher rpm.

Again with the Hp curves they are higher too.
The map is based on 100 Ron fuel so had i not have filled up with 95 Ron the gains should have been slightly better.

The one above is in white but it has German plates, the Finnish one was Suzuka grey and was seen on the SH training days.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Just had a long weekend in Germany.
Ive spent a good couple of hours flat out in 5th and holding at 7000 rpm in 6th and have had no issues what so ever, the car ran great and just would not blow up!

The most i could muster up was 175 GPS speed.
From 170mph the car is painfully slow in accelerating and it was hard with traffic and bends to get a higher top speed.

I did one stint from Cologne to Frankfurt with an average speed of 124mph but try as i might i could not get a better top end, so i take my hat off to anyone who has managed to take their car to the high 180's low 190's.

t_urbo,

I gotta say that if you're not getting more than 7000 in top, I'd question whether the speed limiter really has been removed?

The way my car runs towards 7K in top means it should easily pull all the way to the redline like some other cars on this WWW site...

Just an observation.

It still pulls in top gear from around 180 on the clock but it is slow, i think after having the tt with almost 600 hp and 650 Tq its going to feel slower at those sorts of speeds.
