I do have Gap too with Audi.
It all depends on what the Direct Line assesor thinks. I don't think a weld is a satisfactory fix on a performance car of this age.
If it is fixed then I will be seeking a Diminution claim from their insurers for about 10% of the vehicles value. This will cover any losses I face when I come to sell the car (if they know it's been repaired)
According to the bodyshop they will repair it to factory standard whatever happens.
I have now got a 1500 mile BMW M6 outside, the grin I have when I drive it it unreal.
Would I swap it for the RS 4 ? Hell no!
