Just make sure it's the correct type socket. If not and the cover is plastic you run the risk of rounding it off. I don't know if the Audi cap is plastic but it is on BMW and F'ing tight.Daz wrote:Thanks Glyn, that's just perfect. I should be able to get hold of a 32mm socket OK. Cheers.

If you are going to Bexley ... I had them yesterday, LOLDaz wrote:Thanks for that, parts are in stock and I collect them on Saturday.
Now, does anyone know if the filter is going to be a pig to get to and get off?
They only used a Filter and washer.
I don't know if the filter is unique to the RS4

No it doesn't I am afraid. Looking at the picture of the sump, it looks like it may take an allen key/ hex key socket, but I can't be certain.Daz wrote:Glyn,
Does Elsa tell you which tool I need to remove the sump plug? Is it a standard socket or a hex tool?

All sorted. Required 10L of oil in total.
Sump plug requires a 6mm hex to remove.
Oil filter replacement must be one of the easiest I've ever done. The cap is plastic so make sure you have a proper 32mm hex socket to stop it rounding off the edges.
The most difficult bit was removing the underbody tray. Lots of clips to unscrew.
Andy, how much did Bexley charge to change your oil?
Pics to follow later.

The likes of Castrol Edge 5w-30, Mobil1 ESP 5w-30, Motul VW Spec 5w-30 and Fuchs Titan GT1 5w-30 all meet these specs and are bang up to date in VAG oil terms.
You'll find data on them here: http://www.opieoils.co.uk
