Woop! - just noticed my car on MRC's Facebook page, some good results after carbon cleaning - I can't wait to get this back now!

"MRC Stage 2, Carbon Clean, MRC Manifold, cold air feed, Gutted Precats: 447ps/490nm"

That's a nice healthy increase from my previous figures of two weeks ago. An increase of +47ps/+40nm. Thanks Doug and MRC ;-)

I bet you can't wait now Paddski!

Well I picked my car up today from MRC and I'm really happy with the results! Thanks Doug.

Having a port, carbon clean (@23K miles) and re-map has made a noticeable difference particularly from 5K. Definitely stronger pulls and with the maps extra features (over REVO), such as linear map in non-sport mode and quiet start-up was worth it. One thing I wasn't aware of for me was that the low rev limiter is now 5.5K due to a lot more air and timing. Still gave me shock when I planted it on the slip road. ;-)

Hope yours turns out okay PBM1 or Paddski!? Seems you’re having pretty much everything done bar a supercharger! LOL. You’re going to love it!

What's the linear map in sport mode all about? I've heard it mentioned before but I don't know what it means.
Also, by the low rev limiter are you talking about the recommended cold oil rev limit which is not a limiter at all just a recommendation? Or is it now an actual rev limiter?

Glad to hear you are happy with it, can't wait for mine to be done next week.

Paddski, you still picking yours up tomorrow?

The linear map as I understand it just softens the sensitivity of the throttle/accelerator. I noticed it was easy/nicer to drive when pottering about. Yeah the low rev limiter (Oil limit) is usually 7K and activates the limiter before the engine is up to temperature - mine is now 5.5K. Looking forward to my drive into work tomorrow ;-)

Yes bet you can't wait, post your results up here ;-)

The rev limiter is never 7k, it just recommends you don't. According to the manual they didn't actually limit it in case you needed and extra bit of power to get you out of a pickle, so even when cold and the warning is on the dashboard you can still hit the 8250 rev limiter.
Does the MRC remap actually introduce a 5500 limit when cold or does it just change the text on the DIS?

No change on the DIS still reads 7K. Funny my limiter always kicked in at 7K before the oil was up to temperature? - (not that it was regular thing when cold). I'm not sure if this 5.5K applies across the board on their maps as mine is running a lot more timing and air according to Doug.

The rev limiter is never 7k
.

When cold the rev limiter cuts in at 7k

my car has a limiter at 7k before oil temp is up to operating temp

and i ve drove a couple of RS4's with the epc light on where the limiter has come in around 5k
