Don't bank on it, we had a break-in last week but all the little scumbag took was the cash out of my wife's purse - he totally ignored the car keys, the credit cards, etc.

Seems he was disturbed by the noise our cats were making trying to get back in the house (he had shoved them outside to stop them running upstairs and disturbing us), the Police have arrested him but had to let him go on Police bail (insufficient evidence as he had got rid of the cash and the items that had generated the forensic evidence for them to know who it was - you'll understand I won't post what that was).

After my break in for my ST the police told me your average car thief won't generally come upstairs, they are as nervous of you meeting them as they are of you. In my case they found no keys, cos they were with me and left with nothing bar 2 dead mobiles and some cash.

If you know where your keys are at all times then I'm of the opinion your car shouldnt really be nicked. If someone's coming tooled and ultra violent then they can have the keys cos it's not worth the hassle but I think the RS4 has moved a little from being nicked by ultra professionals to less intelligent thieves as the value isn't the same as when new.

Tis true - not worth the value to nick and unlike 2006 there are quite a few 4 door getaway car options.

All good points i handt considered.

Still wish our legal system could actually give out proper punishment to the scum of this country, instead of a slap on the wrist and dont do it again.

Only if you paid more than 5% over Glasses guide at time of purchase. Even then its better than the stiffing you main carrier will give you when they try to settle for glasses current guide less 10%

GAP cover is quite cheap for what you get - especially compaired to Tracker Costs - i paid £200 for 3 years RTI cover.
