I miss my silk nappa seats I had in my B5 (Stupidly sold them). These seats are amazingly comfortable and the space gain is pretty good too.

Agree, I was looking a your Poles in your gallery, looked smart. I do like the leather, however I wanted the race cloth as i offers more grip on the track and wears better.PhilT wrote:I miss my silk nappa seats I had in my B5 (Stupidly sold them). Yes mate, she had the R8 V10, the A7 sportback prior to release and now the RS3, but only for a day (all on Audi press plates), she is a motoring journalist. She was interviewing the Peugeot racing team last week for Le Mans. Things get better, Ian just txt me saying he has got Audi VIP tickets for Le Mans..woop wooop.aka_dk wrote:his mum !

Right, could not resists so went out for a midnight blast to test the seats. In summary.
Seat height a little to high but got used to it, On the track it will be ideal.
The lower seat is very comfy, only downside is the top back of the seat, as i have broad shoulder I find it digs in on the shoulder blades, maybe if I loose a little weight it will be fine
As there is more shoulder support it has more of a direct link with the steering and effect your arm positioning.
Again height of bucket effects you link with the steering wheel, so you will have to re-adjust. For me, having the steering wheel fully up and about 1 inch towards me works fine. back of hands wont hit knees when using the crossing arm method.
As with all true bucket seats you are firmly "squashed" in, so no need to use your left leg to support your self against the transmission tunnel (or is that my bad habit?)
Placebo effect maybe? but the car def felts lighter albeit half a tank of fuel and 20kg off the seat weight. Planting the car in 2nd gear up hill in the high revs definitely feels sharper.
Was it worth it, definitely. I so love the RS4.

Wait until you've got a 4 point harness in there. You'll feel amazingly snug. Even on normal car seats a harness makes a huge difference;sonny wrote:no need to use your left leg to support your self against the transmission tunnel (or is that my bad habit?)

I bet, Iv been in cars with 4 point harness before, bit of a faff to get in and out on a daily driver. I will not be going down that route. But I will be getting a GC Lock for the single point seat belt.Shoppinit wrote:Wait until you've got a 4 point harness in there. You'll feel amazingly snug.
