I was looking on JHM and saw that they sell an updated OEM coilpack for our RS4.

Coils are VERY exposed in the RS4 bay so I'd imagine some careless pressure washing could cause problems.
Did this on 54 reg A6 2.0 with the same exposed coils and it cost me over £100 for 4 coils and 4 plugs

i once bought an S4 cab from Cheshire Oaks Audi

drove it 60 odd miles to Birmingham and the coil pack packed up !!

also had coil pack failure on my S4 saloon

never had the S4 avant long enough for that to have it (was only a matter of time)

Whats the all about then, worth it?

For all eight that works out at around £111. (EXR 1.60)

I spoke to the dealer when I heard about the recall but was told my car which is april 07 was not covered, not convinced I called audi uk and was told the same.

I had thrown all the other coilpacks away so could not check serial numbers but have just checked the one I replaced today and it is 07k 905 715c which is covered by recall as neckersaum (sp) has just had his done on the coilpack crisis thread. So on monday im going to call audi and get this sorted cause its getting on my tits.

Have replaced about 4 on my B6 S4 (4.2 BBK) and then another 3 under the workshop notice, as well as at least 2 by previous owner. Hopefully now this will all stop. Fingers crossed...

I rang my local audi dealer today and told them about my problam again, and yet again I was told that mine was not covered and would have to replace them myself

I wasnt going settle this time so I rang Audi uk and spoke to really nice that understood my situation, and agreed that my coilpack code is in the affected batch and could not understand why Audi blackburn did not do the workshop action 2 weeks ago when it was in for a service. The guy said he would speak to them and I was to call blackburn later in day to book it in. I rang back and it was amazing how helpfel they were and how they knew about the workshop action and I should book it in asap  .

So all booked in at last, fingers crossed it will be all sorted.

Glad you got it sorted, pity about the hassle though.
