Porsche is pretty discreet.

At least in my eyes !!

I liked my GT3 but sold it because it wasnt really all that fast, but then i wouldnt say an RS4 is particularly quick either !!!

Not sure if you were joking or half serious, but I cant see how a 2 seat sportscar can compare with a powerful sallon/estate except that they have similar power outputs. I wouldnt copmpare an CLS65 merc and an Enzo either !!!!!

Enjoy the Porker, they're not that expensive to run if you avoid dealers, they are extremely limited on space obviously but thats not always a bad thing, and I would recopmmend JZM as the best tuner/fettler for what its worth.

Cheers mate!!! I'm totally in love with the car! I will admit the interior is a bit primitive in comparison to the Audi but the huge amounts of torque makes up for that!! The seats are actually comfier on a long drive compared to the Buckets in my RS4.
I may not have had issues with carbon build up on the RS4 but thats maybe because it only had 15K when I purchased it and 21K when I part ex'd it! But theres so much talk of it on this forum it was enough to put me off the car!

The boxer style engine in the back is totally reliable as long as you keep an eye on oil. The issues with oil seals were in the 99-2001 models so I kept well away from them! Space isnt an issue for me, I'm single and live with my parents who have no interest in cars. :D
Remap and exhaust are definitely on the list!! 530bhp and 510lbs/ft HERE WE COME!!! @1.2 bar of boost!! YES PLZ!!!
She doesnt understeer either! Running costs aint bad at all, servicing is every 2 years but I will be doing oil changes every 6K miles with FUCHS fully synthetic oil as I do with ALL my cars! Dry sump technology is brilliant too ;) Oh whats that....the TTRS has a dry sump too??? HHHMM who gave them that idea!!! Oh and who's designing VWs PERFORMANCE car range next year?? Yea PORSCHE!!

Thanks for all the comments guys! I didnt mean to start a big fight here, but in my experience the RS4 is over rated. and I owned the car a full 6months!

the oil seals were an issue until the 997 series...

how can a car with 35/65 wt dist 'understeer', lol
they snap 'oversteer'

Porsche did not invent the dry sump...
been around for a long time

you do realize that VAG controls Porsche now?
and true Porschephiles think the 996 series is the worse car they ever built?
hence the bargin basement prices?
you can get one cheaper than an RS4 in the States...

6 months is nothing...6k miles? lol
it's the Porsche that is over-rated...a glorified VW bug
it was not a design by choice, but by necessity...
he had some VW bugs chassis lying around and said hey, let's make a sports car out of them
someone will buy them...wt distribution and all

think about it: 2 seconds over 13 miles...<1 kmh difference...
2 seat 'supercar' vs 4 door luxury saloon...2 seconds...

2001 30k miles, $44k http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-POR ... 2a09c84d97

now check out an RS4
2008 35k miles $45.5k http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-POR ... 2a09c84d97

there's a reason for this ;)

even the GT3 is devalued
2004 32k miles $53k http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-Por ... 27b4351a3a

i had a 2004 C4S and trust me there are issues with all 996 engines and rear main seals. I had mine replaced under warrenty with one which i believe porsche have revised the design of.

Some cars dont leak at all, some leak 500 miles after having the seal changed - however again the stories are massively exagerated on the forums and the possiblity of engine failure with a slightly leaking RMS are few and far between.

So on a par with the Recaros then

So much talk by a handful of people - the most alarmist of which (by a country mile) has had no issues himself...

Of a cab with MFSW - not exactly the performance model

You're obviously not happy, and each to their own. Good luck with your new toy, but quite honestly, calling the old one a piece of SH*T (when it just didn't float your boat) makes you a bit of a TW*T

I think my RS4 is still the best looking vs price vs performance car there is on the road, otherwise I would have changed it by now! I love it, and an ancient Porsche, which looks dated in my opinion wouldn't make it on my list in a million years, even it it is fractionally faster.... simple as that!
