Thanks for all your replies, I'm feeling more positive again.

Going to ask the dealer to remove that ugly phone module sticking out of the side of the dash before I collect, then all I really need to do is get the seat leather replaced in the section that is worn. After that all I need to do is find a good detailer to work his magic and I'm hoping to have a stunning vehicle on my drive.

Thx for all the replies and I'm Hoping to add some positive threads on here

You like your Atom Mike ? I had one for a year and still miss it dearly. Wife is not too keen on me having another one after going into a hedge and out! I spoke to Tom at the factory recently and i'm very tempted to join the club again.
What can I say, not the most practical of cars.............but..........to go out and get the blood flowing again nothing else comes close. Mine is with Tom at the moment to get the Euro 4 update (new exhaust spec)
S4(b5)Avant ,K04's+Milltek pipes+ECU+full QST

you could ask them to check for any carbon build-up especially since they have told you of a problem because of fuel.

Seat bolsters, you know about.

I would ask them to check that oil cooler is not leaking, and the pipes are not chaffed.

Check the air box flap function & the solenoid.Very important

Finally, there was a TPI about a clutch pipe modification - ask them to check this has been done. Warranty issue

You have new pads, so they will have checked the discs are OK.
How many of those problems have you had on your RS4, Sims?

Which dealer do you use to have your RS4 serviced, and to do the service campaigns?

I use my RS4 only 1 day a week for the commute to work, but I'm in a MUCH better mood that day - and I come home "the scenic route" to enjoy the sound of that glorious V8 and to feel it stretch it's legs & corner like it's on rails. It's just a huge hoot to drive, and I feel honoured to own it.

Sims, please feel free to contribute to the thread I have set up for 'where to have RS4's serviced'. For newbies like sock your input would be useful?

deposits...here's something to consider
can't be done away with unless we revert to a port injected engine
the new M engines, next gen M3/5, Porsche, AMG, Ferrari are using it...here's why

RS5 vs M3 engine
~ same displacment 4 vs 4.2 (larger should use more fuel)
compression ratio ~ the same, within a few %
power, a bit more made by the RS5, same for torque
RS5 weighs 400+ lbs more and has MUCH more parasitic losses, awd vs 2...

so despite have every disadvantage for mpg (larger engine, much heavier, more losses)
same test regimes
RS5 13.3, M3 13.9 <5% difference
5% more displacement
11% more wt
8% more power
probably twice the losses

the equalizer? DI
makes for a much more effcient engine, despite the inherent drawbacks
the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe...Albert Einstein

I did this last year, its a great package aint it, did you do half day?

I liked the C63, however on the skidpan it really made me think twice about having one. long live the RS4

Only did half an hour but it was enough to realise £67k was more than it was worth. The deal they were trying to put together showed that it was worth £28k after 3 years and 30k miles.......good luck to 'em
