dave, by virtue of the eml light coming on does that mean a different or more serious fault has been identified vs. Just the epc light
I had the audi man out for an hour and he was very thorough and did a number of tests and gave it the ok
Its just the dealer iv got it booked into a 120miles from me and im going away to the US so its going tp be lots of hassle to give it to them on Tues only for them to do the same tests as the audi man and decide its ok, esp given the lights are out and have stayed out despite some spririted driving today!

just the EPC light was on first, on and off
then it came back on accompanied by the enigne management light (EML)
then they both went off !
guess what, its gone back off!
this is going to go on forever, a thread where I just talk to myself
seems to go off when its a bit warmer, i.e. more than 2degrees, which is consistent with the Audi man's diagnosis that its the extreme cold thats causing the light
Car has not changed in its characteristics since I picked it up throughout the light show

Might help if you posted what fault codes the engine ECUs (addresses 1 and 11) are showing - without that anything we say is 100% guessing...there are literally hundreds of reasons why the fault lights will appear on the dash. Some are minor or intermittent - which is why the lights come and go.
