Yeah good idea, the insurance have been round and they seem to be ok at the moment.

The frustrating thing is we only had the car for 2 months and it seems to have vanished into thin air!!

Not that its any consolation, but I have to say I have a solicitor friend from Leeds who had 2 Audi's stolen in ~2 years inspite of the additional security he installed...

They never found the cars.

The word from the police was that they are stolen to be shipped out East.

Yeah seems I was just the unlucky one, and if they want your car then they will get it.

Tracker said to me that its REALLY unusual for the car not to be found if it's fitted with a device but I think tracker are really geared up for joy riders not pros.

Tracker is nothing but an annoyance to pro thieves. Wife's car was removed from drive way in dead of night (without keys and not driven) movement/tilt sensors didn't work to notify of movement. Forunately tracker did fire up later in the morning and BiBs - thames valley and bedfordshire did a great job recovering car (in lock up about to be stripped) using helicopter etc.
Tracker said to me if they want the car they will get it, and simply security will confuse a thief - take off ht leads etc., fuel cut off etc.

wow you were lucky to get your wifes car back. I wish I knew where ours was, even if it's being converted into a Toyota Prius as we speak!

Tracker public great looking figures about the number of cars recovered after being traced using the Tracker - but try getting them to answer the question "How many cars fitted with a Tracker have NOT been recovered?" I've asked them that many times and they just refuse to answer it.

Without knowing that you cannot judge their success rate - so you cannot judge whether the cost of a Tracker is worthwhile. I came to the conclusion that since they refuse to answer, then they must be hiding something. And this case strengthens that view.

Yes you are completely right. I mean if they were willing to be open about the car loss rate then people would respect them alot more and make their own choices. (unless it's REALLY bad)

Sounds like a freedom of information request to the police asking them to reveal how many stolen cars fitted with tracker have not been recovered might reveal information that tracker won't give out. They may not have this info but could be a stick to beat tracker with.

what with tracker only being pinged once, the Thames valley police tracing the cars location then losing it, then the Hampshire police persuing the car and then losing it, and then not hearing anything for 3 weeks I'm beginning to wonder whether someones trying to tell me something!!

Their reason for stopping me was because a recently stolen RS4 was in the area & to check my ID.

They also mentioned cloned plates & a bank robbery!

P.S. Hello all as this is my first post!
