Ok as Ive said im in..30% off seems like a good deal....how do we go about doing this now?...Im quite ready to pay up front & get one ordered. Is there someone on this board that sorts these things out?..sorry its all a bit new to me, never been involved in a group buy before, but if someone is happy to start the ball rolling I will happily paypal/send a chq or whatever straight away

Caldy that isn't a bad discount at all on 5 units. It is basically £547 inclusive of shipping for each buyer.

With regard to how to do it, I suppose if one takes the lead...the other interested members could pay the person who takes the lead and then proceeds with the order once all funds are cleared.

Another way would be to all place separate orders with gruppeM but mention you are all part of the group buy and how many expected buyers there are. They can then deduct 30% for each RS246 member.

Not quite sure about the group buy rules for RS246.com though. Maybe the mods can help? There is a GB section.

The import duty and VAT could be a problem ... This would depend on how the package is marked ..

Guys, I have just spoken to Ed at APS and he is happy to act as a front man for the order. This seemed like a logical step as he knows GruppeM and rates the products. For those of you who don't know APS i would thoroughly recommend them. They remapped my RS4 and adjusted the Milltek positioning for free. Overall they are very reliable and helpful!

I understand that he is in touch with GruppeM as we speak and they are happy to do a deal/disocunt on a group order. Pricing is yet to be confirmed and is dependant on the number of people interested. I did add that I thought interest would be at about the £500-£600 mark and anything north of that would see people start to fall away.

Going forward, if people are happy to go down this route then he'll need contact numbers and a small deposit. The contact details for APS are online. I have already left my name and mobile number. Hopefully a few more of you will follow.
John

I had a very similar set up on my TT with a Neuspeed air box. On the earlier APX engines there is a cold start-up air pump which runs momentarily on start-up to help with emisions and this used a small K&N filter identical to what is in the photo. Either the RS4 has a similar set-up or it's not a picture for the RS4.

To be honest, this makes no difference to normal running and performance and if ever the pump went wrong then many people just disconnected the pump. I didn't do that by the way. As far as I'm concerned, if it's there then it should be working.

Graham
Cool, thanks Graham :)

Guys, you need to follow these if the GB is run on this site.

We had a bad experience a couple of years ago, so no exceptions, sorry.

Anyone in Australia interested. Just worked it out at around $1680 landed before GST or import duty so frigin expensive. But it does look nice! Potential gains, possibly.

The small flap someone mentioned youll see if you pull the air filter out. It sucks in air right near the exhaust so I personally think its not too much to worry about, then again the Germans dont do things for nothing. I did see a post somewhere explaining how it worked.

I spoke to some guys at the BTCC test today at Brands ... not that positive about it .... also warned of lean running at high speed if the car has not be mapped to take account of it ........

For those interested, the update position for a group buy with APS is as follows:

- Group buy price for the filter kit is: £699 (£100 off retail). This includes shipping and APS are not charging for fitting.
- Delivery time will take about 3-4 weeks.
- The higher air flow may result in leaner running of the car as suggested. However, it is unlikely this will occur under normal everyday running conditions. It is more than likely that GruppeM have factored this in. However, APS would advise a remap to get the best possible results from this kit, which is currently on offer for £500 INC VAT.
- In order to proceed we would need another 3 people to confirm orders and place £100 deposit. If interested, can you please register with APS directly bearing in mind the sensitive nature of GB's on the forum.

Hope that helps.
John
