Has anyone managed to hook up their N95 with the GPS receiver in the car to use the "Maps" application?

Does anyone know if I don't have the new "Q" version of the BT module in my RS4, if I bought one, I could just swap them over and gain the functionality with my N95 that I want without any other mucking about?

Or am I into recoding with VAGCOM etc etc?

(Of course, now that I've got access to Vagcom that might not be such an issue.....)

All you'll have to do is access your existing BT module, and get the coding from it, and then just install the new one, and code it accordingly.

All the above is based on, that you haven't adjusted the mi sensitivity etc.

I've now got my N95 to pair with the new "Q" BT module in the A3 which Nick from AVS installed, but the phonebook comes up (on the display)displaying the numbers field(s) rather than names field(s).

You can use the "Find Entry" search function to search for a name, but I can't figure out how to get the display to register the names rather than the numbers?

My wife's Samsung displays the names field(s) as you'd expect...

Anyone?

I've populated the fields in the phone in the conventional sense...

Apolagies for the thread revival! and a long time away from the Forum, I remember back when it started...

I am looking for contact details for " Nick from AVS" ( Possibly Auto Vehicle Solutions?) mentioned several times through this thread.

Hopefully the same Nick who did a brilliant job retrofitting folding Electric Mirros to my current car at Newbury Audi, when it didn't fit in my garage.

Audi Picked up the tab last time for their error, but now I am thinking about a change to an RS3, and might come across the same issue of needing folding mirrors, so it would be useful to have the details in advance for someone I know i can trust, and has done it before.

Please PM me if you would prefer not to post them publically.

many thanks.

Paul.
