And people laughed when I said that a 5 series kept up with me. The main problem is that the RS4 has some of the worst gearing in the biz. Whenever I shift, I always fall out of the powerband and under 5000rpm, the pull is fairly pathetic for a 420hp motor. So it's quick if you go from a slight roll, shifting above 8000rpm, because you keep the engine on the boil all the time. However in some situations I often find myself a gear too high or too low. So in real life, my 130iMsport felt just as quick.

No excuses required.

Like I said, your driving was superb.

Its down to your petrols crap octane rating, i've never seen petrol sold in Russia or ukraine that even matches standard UK unleaded on octane, its utter garbage, my mother in law's VAZ could outrun a M3 on that stuff.

No, seriously, watching the car do the laps that weekend your driving was good, tight lines etc. Sounded the nuts and was most deffinately hauling ass.

Thanks.

TBH the one scenario i still can't master is fast & technical, as it's either one or the other. My fastest laps were not the most technical & vice versa. The harder i pushed the less technical my lines etc. became. Saying that, the fast ones were by far the more fun & i stand by my thinking that when paying soooo much for the thrill of learning & driving that track, you kinda want a few giggles along the way.

This is my 300hp ibiza cupra vs friends 500hp chipped rs6. I bet i would beat our rs4 b7 till 120 mph, but after that it's all rs4's turf.

Then ii don't understand the point you are trying to make.

If you put a RS4 or for that matter a new M3, 997TT or F430 in 6th gear when it should be in second and drag a 130i that is in second then obviously its going to be quicker but if you put a 130i in 6th you would probably stall it.

There seems to be a fantastic ability on the internet to simply make up completely irrellevent comparisons to try and prove this point or that point but its like saying "if you put your F1 car in 6th at 10mph then my John Deere tractor is faster"......

its obvious that a lower BHP car in a proper gear is going to outriun a car in the wrong gear because you are probably deploying less torque and BHP to the wheels than they are, but thats the drivers fault not the cars!

 Indeed! Sport mode (tippy not RS4) has it's uses, like curing the lazy driver + manual car problem ;-)

When are you thinking of going to Awesome? I may also put my car on a RR and Awesome is about as close to me as APS or WRC. Would be good to hear your Millteked RS as well!
Not booked yet, but hoping around mid December.
