Well finance is there for a reason, it's just the maths on doing that on a car never add up.. If you want the car more than the maths says then go for it..
I could probably argue the point both ways but I don't think I'd every finance a car but that's just me...
RS4 Finance, good deal....?
RE: Re: RE: RS4 Finance, good deal....?
the balloon payment is a guarenteed value of the car in many cases, and if the deal is correct and accurate, you should always get more than the balloon payment if you give the car back at the end of the finance agreement...
It might only be a grand or two but you should still get something, provided you look after the car

Personally, for a car over £20K I would always finance as I could use the funds elsewhere to better effect. But like said, it is a personal choice. I would rather put my money in paying off a mortgage primarily because even with recent housing market happenings in the long term it is an apreciating asset or pay off other higher interest debts. But you do have to be savvy about using finance.
I always laugh when the salesmen try to sell you things like paint protection to protect your "Investment" !!
Re finance, if you didn't like cars but played golf, tennis, football, went fishing, enjoyed 5* holidays drank a lot smoked a lot, all these things would cost a fortune if you added up what you had spent over 3 years, but, because you are not spending a huge amount of money each time you never really think of it.
If your car is you're only real hobby then your monthly payment is for something that gives you real pleasure, like a golfer and you would still need some mode of transport anyway and still have to pay for that !!
I started with a mini and i know own the best car i have ever had in my life, i love every minute i'm in it, i'm keeping it for as long as possible as i fear there will be only one step after this car and that will be down.
