Actually MTM aren't the only ones with a supercharger for the S4

Re the new RS4. It will need to look stunning to get even close the original and without the turbos I doubt it will offer what is needed. Shame, however does mean RS4 will remain an ikon....I shall miss it

As much as I should believe this post, I know Audi and their cars.

I am not saying this is for certain or that you are truely wrong, its the fact I don't believe in this.

The way I see it is the S's are NA and the RS's are turbocharged.

As you well know the s4 is NA and the planned s3 with be NA leaving as i said earlier the S's are NA now.

However I think the RS's wil be turbocharged because thats the selling point of an RS in the modern day. Can you justify an S4 4.2l V8 to an RS4 4.2l v8 with like £10,000. (I can't see that myself) I wouldn't say its £10,000 better car so they have to make them special in some way whther it be turbo's as in all RS's from 2000 as thats what was said by audi a while back.

Why should Audi's stop using their trustable turbo's? Law..I don't think so, Its the same for Diesels and there emmisions.

Its like saying the Porsche 911 Turbo made in Germany, are they going to stop 911 turbo's. NO WAY its a big selling point nad people buy cars in some cases such as the RS4 for tuning and the pure whistle of a turbo.

Here is what I think -:
Audi RS4 (If its called that) Who knows? I somewhat believe that any sources are invalid at the present time as they are currently testing different setups etc...As for people saying NO TURBO'S (Do you honestly believe that?)

As for the engine- 4.2 v8 or 3.0 v6 BI-Turbo or turbocharged in some way.

Revive the superchargers?

Body? Lightweight 1400 KG no way (especially no the Avant unless its a CSL wanna be).

Price = £50,000 GBP

This is entirely my opinion on thinks on from recent posts, and what Audi UK and GMBH have said over the years. Law won't choose whether turb's are used or not.

Argue if you want, but I don't intend to start a war.

Yes, I thought this would depress me and it has.

How about.........

An RS4A non-turbo,wallowy suspension, annoying seat belt warning ding ding ding for America
and
An RS4 turbo and all we wish for Europe and the rest of the civilised world.

Next thing, we will need a visa and an armed guard to drive in one.

Audi need to do what the japs have been doing for years. Export models which suit export markets, and high performance limited edition models with all the tricks for the domentic market. We're lucky down here in NZ, we get allot of the jap domestic models, and wow, we get a few extra HP and tricks to boot . Look at the new Nissan GTR, they'll have a 4.x V8 for the yanks, and a honking turbo v6 for the domestic market. yay !

So based on this you buy an S4 and chip it for a couple of grand or pay a shed load more for the extra 20bhp?

?????

As a current S4 owner I couldn't agree more

Can't see the point in laying out £50k for a 'new' RS4 when I can make my current S4 V8 a very similar spec after dropping it off at AmD for a Stage III conversion

Call me an optimist, but I reckon the engine will be 4.2 V8 turbocharged, & the body will be given the steriod treatment like the present car. I can't see the sense having the S4 & new RS4 with the same engine unless it has a serious power hike. RS up to now means turbocharged, lets hope it stays that way.

Lets face it to date Audi have never made a "special" N/A engine. At the moment BMW probably make one of the best out there a la M3. Audi won't get it this good on their first attempt. I've had an M3 and didn't like it - I need that torque, that gut wrenching pin you back in the seat feeling. I need the smile factor.
Anyhows today I shall be mostly taking the '4 out for a back road blast and then treating her to a full wash and wax to make sure she stays around for a very long time.

Well unless you know the EU market...There maybe Turbo's

How do you know? One Source which could be 1 of 10 developments at Audi at the moment.... They will be testing more than one setup whether it be costs, Requirements, Speed..You get my drift.

Guys

The information that there will be NO turbos is solid.

There is no point in pretending otherwise, this has been signed off by the board - GEDDIT? capisce, or whatever.

Whoever said Audi has never done a special normally aspirated engine has forgotten about the racing 2 litre engines and has never seen the engine in the Gallardo, go ahead and look, it has the four rings on it.

However, the tuners are already getting ready to fit superchargers to the new RS4 and S4, so that is good news.

Do remember that Lamborghini is an Audi subsidiary, and the performance leader. In the future the highest performance Audis will be from Sant'Agata - Italian Chutzpah with German engineering standards - can't be bad!

No-one knows, although we all like to think we do.

There is only ONE way to find out. It will be a British engine created at Cosworth Technology. We could pop round there and ask.
Standard RS4 (is it the only standard one left?)

Thanks Nordschleife!

The Gallardo V10 is basically two Audi 5 cylinder engines mounted together. They even sound like the good old 5 cylinder enigne, except twice that!

So NO turbos!

However, there are rumors of a BMW with a ~3 liter with turbos so if you want a turbo better get your deposit down that alley
