No drone under acceleration but when just cruising along there is a bit of drone...but no where near enough to get annoying :biggrin3:

As great as it was I fancied a change and was fed up of getting stopped. There's only so many times I get my car confiscated before it becomes bore.

Ive being toying with this mod for a while and kept thinking stay stock. However today had the resonator deleted by Tony Banks in Leeds. Good service, straight pipes attached.

Sound wise, sounds good with a bit of drone though. I would say there is a loss of torque. Will give it a few days, to see how it goes.
May revert, was due to take pics, but before returning they had already finished.

Looking under the car, looks a good job.

I have New Tubi Oval back boxes to fit but didnt want to cut my original exhaust so was thinking about using Milltek deres center pipes modified to fit the tubis.

Anyone one have experience with this setup?

Thanks :beerchug:
I've done this previously. I bought the milltek H pipe and non res centre sections (and later swapped with res). To make it a complete cat back system you will need to either cut the Tubi to match the milltek centre pipes or cut the milltek centre pipes and add an additional bit of pipe to mate the 2 systems. I went for cutting the back boxes so I could easily swap the milltek non res centre section for res if I wanted at a later stage.
Thanks

How come you changed from the tubi's?
I had Mike's setup, it was loud, horrifically loud. It would be brilliant if you could switch it off when it suited you.

Loss of torque sounds a bit of a concern...!
Maybe a placebo as others seem to think no power loss and actually free's up the loud pedal a bit?
Hopefully will settle OK...

Deleting the resonators will do f*** all to the engine's power delivery. It's just a sound thing. A decent crossover pipe could make *some* measurable if not actually noticeable difference.

Sold on this.

Booked in to a local exhaust chap for Thursday morning. Not going to lie, i'm too tight to shell out £1500 for a Miltek so hopefully this satisfies me.

I went with precat delete (straight pipe in place of the precats), an x-pipe centre section, and stock backboxes. Valves are stuck open.

I think it makes a good noise without being obtrusive. My 2 year old sleeps in the car no probs and there's no noticeable drone on the motorway. I haven't actually driven a RS4 with a standard exhaust, but I don't imagine my exhaust is actually that much louder.

Here's a vid I made at a recent trackday to give you an idea.

All I can hear there is your intake Faisal

Any outside shots?

I quite like mine, stock with the precats gutted and open valves. I wish I could keep the sound except louder. But it gets more clattery when you ditch the resonators, so not sure.

Mine actually sounds fairly loud compared to nearly every other car on the road already, it's just that you don't notice it behind the wheel.

That is much louder than stock. You'd be surprised how quiet it is stock with working valves.

Sounds great. How is it compared to when you first bought it?

What made you choose the X pipe setup?

Did you ever run with gutted precats and std centre/rear setups?

If so, how was it when you removed the centre resonators?
