Rather have the interior vandalised than the seats nicked as it can be repaired and the car probably wouldn't get written off.

Agreed, the seat leather works out to £2k a seat but it's easy to get hold of and the car is repairable. I'll happily buy a set of locking bolts rather than go through the hassle of replacing the seats again

Thinking about it, stopping them getting in to start would be the answer!

I've thought about these (hope link works), though if you need to remove the seat...... Would happily wait to see what trups' mate comes up with though.

that's a good idea, how would you take that out if needed?

Just need something that would stump them when they get the ratchet out! imagine the look while they are hanging in the car, one day bet they break into the wrong persons car and get whats given to them!

I guess you'd have to drill the cap out, so not an ideal solution to our problem. Mind you, how often is it necessary to remove a seat in your car?

I am thinking of upping the alarm so it has one that is pretty much a siren so loud it would wake up the whole street. It's kinda hard to concentrate on stealing seats when the whole street is being woke up and swearing because a really loud car alarm is going off and looking out of their windows at the car.

Yes that would help as our std alarm is pretty useless on that front.

Found this interesting upgrade...

Guys, I'll be writing to Audi uk again about this, let me have your emails and I can copy you in.

Re the 3m film, when mine was broken in the glass was simply pulled out and left intact on the roadside.

If and when I get my car back I will be fitting an additional, loud, alarm, and get the various to the alarm put in non standard places.

I'd appreciate some other victims of this getting in touch directly.

Thanks

I have a Viper alarm on my RS4 and its a great investment. Cost me around £600 fitted, but after having a previous M3 stolen I wasnt taking any chances. Alarm is much louder and proximity sensors mean I always know my car is still there in the morning :)

Can recommend using SecureMyCar if you want one installed, ask for Anthony.

Combined with a Disklok, I sleep comfortably at night now!
