I know, Dom, but you've gotta be consistent... I should probably update "the rules".

Dom81 wrote: Arthur - yet again you're missing my point. I've said that I hardly ever drive in town (so why say it's exclusively a city stop / go wrong car, car) - I almost exclusively drive it on the motorway or fun roads, but in central London at a snail's pace you can see the needle move faster than the car, and kiss any thoughts of a redline goodbye...
I've never given you a town / city / highway mpg
I've never said I'm getting 150-200 - how, where, what etc. ?
There's nothing wrong with me or my car

For someone so concerned with pedantry, you're inferring quite a lot. Do the math(s) - is 10mpg at gridlock speed possible?
for someone so concerned with facts you sure avoid them
the car seems fine, you, not so sure

what is your point?
0 mpg is possible, idling
infinite is possible, rolling down a hill with engine off

but 10 mpg avg or 150 miles/tank under mixed driving is not, unless there is a mechanical problem or driver abuse
today mine averaged 19 mpg, in town, multiple lights, 4 mile trip (oil never got above 130 F, 7000 rpm limit stayed on) meaning car was in open loop fuel trim
doesn't get worse, still 19

I'm not married but you're probably both as equally as boring... in bed. I've no idea how to psychoanalyse someone/something so why would you even bring that up? Are you angry and paranoid? If you were really bored you'd prove me right and do as I say by not replying to this post...

Wouldn't it have to be an infinite hill, do those exist? Also, if the engine is off whilst moving, would MPG be the correct measure, wouldn't the use of MPG require an engine to be running? Sorry, I don't possess an engineering degree so I'm just being curious.

BTW - if I point out that you're wrong, does that make me right?

For the last time, I'm not talking about mixed driving - I'm talking about crawling along. Your 4 miles this morning could typically take me 40 mins - that's certainly how long the 4 miles to my daughter's old school used to take at pick-up time, and hence why we run a hybrid for stuff like that. Admittedly a bridge was out (long term) but before that it was Knightsbridge works, since that Shepherd's Bush roundabout - there's always something...

Dom keeping a RS4 in London is like keeping a tiger in a cage.............. it just ain't right man.............. set it free :FIREdevil:
As far as MPG goes, don't care and I don't believe anyone who buys one of these beasts does :<beep>_you:
V8's are about many things, none of which involve MPG :biggrin3:
Buy it, drive it, love it :jump:
It's an Audi RS4 V8............. what else do you need to know!
