Arthur, for the sake of putting this thread to bed it may be best to leave it as it is.

ArthurPE. Agree to disagree perhaps?

You've got your thoughts, I've got mine, others have theirs.

Let's give it a rest eh?

rs4v8, all credit to you for trying, others have tried too. He has made himself irrelevant by his denials & argument (at least his foul language has reduced).

Such a contrast to see helpful technical posts from people like SilverRS4 and other UK centric guys like Doug S2/S2Tuner.

you guys are funny
stop making this a competition and taking it so personally, lol

simsy, had to spew out lies, bile and personal attacks didn't you, SOP
can't help yourself, it's become a compulsion, re: your post count in 5-6 months...none worth much spit...as evidenced above
so for someone to be 'relevant' they have to be UK centric? what does that even mean? eg, US guys are not welcome? you speak for all?

Funny how Sims has to try to have the last word - again?

I wish the moderators on this Forum would be more intrusive and block threads...

Like the last post I'll keep this one short, sweet and objective so as to avoid any other members 'gettin their panties in a bunch'.

Dropped car of Friday a.m. and had a diagnostic ride with the Master Tech. He didn't seem too convinced there was an issue during the ride but I may have been reading him wrong. I asked about the AoA recall and the fitting of 3G DRC on all four corners. He stated that as far as he knew 3G was only available on the RS6 as it would take significant mods to install on a RS4. The 2G on the RS4 with the 5Y warranty was how AUK are dealing with it. I guess the different approach probably relates to exposure/liability.

Got car back Friday p.m. with accumulators, rear dampers and pipes replaced. When tested pressures were below 12 barg but there were no signs of leakage so I guess this is what pointed them to the accumulators. The front dampers were changed around 10K ago so I guess they changed the rears as a precaution. Car now handling like it should.

Audi is keeping records on all cars serviced by this action:
-any mechanical damage
-inspection for leaks
-pressure test

probably need it to settle up with KYB and KW...
and to document the real extent of the issue....

a little birdy told me out of all the cars done so far (>50 cars) not one has been out of spec...

So not one of the 50 have had a dip in their operating pressure?

afaik well over 50 so far (out of 2500+ cars)
not out of spec...

if a system drops from an inital 16 bar charge (I've heard 14 also) to say 14.5 over 40k miles, and NO GO spec is 12, it is within spec...

even if you took a conventional shock, and tested it new, then retested it at 40k you would find a major decrease in its rebound and compression resistance...

you can't expect something to never wear, ie, lose efficiency

I'm not disagreeing Arthur. Just find it somewhat surprising.
