Good questions, waiting for good answers.Dom81 wrote:Any idea why intermittent driving and long time "not-using" are factors?
What's supposedly happening when I'm not driving it?!
RS4 B7 Stated Power claim of 420ps
'purportedly', lol, what a disclaimer...
that is not from Audi, I emailed them...
there is no difference in engine spec between early and late production cars (the rings are not in the head btw)
I can't believe Audi would think the piston rings are in the cylinder head...lol
all part numbers are identical, neither of those have anything to do with deposits anyways
the only difference is software revisions and Audi updates as they service the cars, so all should be the same...
increasing engine oil temp would increase deposits, not decrease them...more oil would become volitile...
increasing the oil temp by 20C would make it operate ~235-240F, that is too hot and would break the oil down rapidly, necessitating more changes...
the RS5 engine is IDENTICAL to the RS4, again, IDENTICAL, the only difference being the intake boxes/manifold, geometry only, everything else is the same...block, heads, etc.
look at the torque numbers, 317 each, the HP was increased by changine cam timing (through software/indexing) to shift the power up a bit to 8400 or so, and as you know HP ~ T x RPM, so increasing rpm = more HP, the intake helps it breath a bit better...the RS4 will have better drivability/elasticity/flexibility due to more torque at lower rpm's, check out the specs...

That's fine - you have stated your view.ArthurPE wrote:'purportedly', lol, what a disclaimer...

that's correct it is MY opinion, but you have mis-stated Audi's...that is not from them...sims wrote:

they have not issued a warranty extension in relationship to deposits
they have not acknowledged power loss
the RS4 engine has not been mechanically revised during its production run
where is the source for that 'info' from Audi AG (quattro GmbH)?
it's not 'my view' that the PISTON rings are NOT in the CYLINDER head, lol
btw: Audi spec range is 1 liter per 1000km...it hasn't changed

I shall look into it.ArthurPE wrote:link please?
the VP of Audi NA has requested it
You have instant access to the VP of Audi NA, and he relies on you to find out information of this nature via a Forum - what is your relationship with him? Is it commercial, directly or indirectly?
In the meantime I await an apology from you, as requested on Feb 19th, and I quote:
"With respect, your language has been awful. and unbecoming for this forum. Without any foundation and based entirely on your prejudice, you have accused me of lying. I shall await your apology. And in the meantime, I hope you will not inflict your foul language on others".
You used words like choad (readers can google it), loser, whore and accused me of lying. On a moderated forum, you would have got banned.
In a post yesterday you once again accused me of lying, and then requested information, shoot 1st, ask later. I cannot engage in conversation with you with that attitude & approach.
I require that apology and I am then happy to move on and discuss the issue at hand in a civil non-intimidating manner.
