It's in the public domain so it's anyone's to use, but for the record Audi's response to the B7 RS4 problem (5 yr / 80k warranty) is good for me

is this a blanket policy, do I need to ask my local dealer for a letter or do I write to Audi UK?

After protracted discussion with Service manager got letter from Audi UK specific to my car explaining investigations Audi have carried out, concluding only effects a small number of cars etc. etc. but confirms the 5year/75,000 extension to the warranty. V Useful if/when coming to sell car.

After 2 Months of waiting for the parts to be delivered (originally promised for Jan '09) the dealer has finally replaced the front shocks on my RS4.

Unfortunately, during the road test carried-out by the Master Technician, the car has now developed a weird knocking noise from the suspension - This wasn't evident before the work was undertaken. Consequently, they need to keep hold of it until the fault is rectified!

I hope it's something simple like air in the Hydraulics as a result of the warranty work. If it's something more complicated / sinister, I think it will push me over the edge!

...and to add insult to injury; it would appear that they're currently unable to update the ECUs to Software Revision 0090, due a file missing from the Audi remote server - At least with the car in the care of the dealer, they get to be gassed-out by engine / exhaust when they start it in the mornings!

Souns like they haven't pumped the system up to the correct pressure.

The suspension has been fixed!

Apparently there was some air still in the system - Hydraulics were bled and recharged accordingly.

It now feels like a different car (better).......The ride is a lot smoother and turn-in is sharper. Oh...and the steering wheel is now on perfectly straight!

Unfortunately the ECUs still await a reflash to SW 0090 - The dealer is still have problems accessing the files on the central Audi Server.

For everybody - I was at my local Audi today. They had a look at a knocking from the steering and tightened a bolt which cured it. Anyway, whilst having a chat with the parts guy, he said when my car was in for the shocks getting replaced, their tech was on the phone to Audi UK, and they mentioned to him that all RS4's are going to subject to a recall in approx 4 months time - for something to do with the DRC system.

This could be B/S, but if anyone has heard similar it would be good to know.
