Re: My Rs4 Project
Stop teasing us and show me the money!
Re: My Rs4 Project
looks lovely - a real work of art - the only thing I would do and don't take this as a criticism at all but i'd get some little brass bristled brushes (like a suede brush) and and clean up the bits of the engine block you can see
did this on mine and whilst its not perfect it makes the exposed metal look a lot lot better and in a clean engine bay just finishes it off nicely so would look ace in yours
I bought a few sets of brushes off ebay for a few £££ a set as the cleaning kills them after a bit

nothing other than the little brass brushes I mentioned. think I used an air duster as well just to clean up any mess

Re: My Rs4 Project
today i fitted some more carbon , on my way down to early edition last week I nipped over to Mikes and picked up a carbon DTM splitter, it had a chip and some scratches, so i tidied it up filled in the chips and fitted it today

also i made some templates and had these parts made up from carbon,
anyone know what they are for?

Re: My Rs4 Project
Well done Rick, you managed to do in a week what I failed to do in a year!
Give us a clue for those other bits? I thought they looked sunvisor shaped but then noticed one has square edges (well more rhombus like than square).

Still waiting for a proper pic of the car

I know! I've seen the realy thing and it's gorgeous, I don't know why he is teasing us.Silas wrote:Still waiting for a proper pic of the car
PS, Rick I said I'd send you a link to the company on ebay that does the carbon trim for our sterring wheels so here it is:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARBON-Lenkra ... 1e73161e99
It's 250Eur (just over 200 quid) for the bottom bit. When buying it you also have to pay a deposit of either 50euro or 50 quid (forgotten which) but when you send back him your old plastic but he will refund it, or alternatively you can keep your plastic bit and he keeps the deposit (he is ok with that, I checked with him). He said he can also do the other trim bit with the buttons. He quoted me for it and I think it was a similar price to this bit.
I'd have had mine done if I definitely knew that I wasn't going down the flat bottom multi function route to control my stereo.
Re: My Rs4 Project
ha ha, it wasnt easy i tell you, getting it centered so you couldnt see the holes, i filled in the 2 holes in the middle of it with resin and flatted back, as i have removed the centre oil cooler splitter .MikeFish wrote:Well done Rick, you managed to do in a week what I failed to do in a year!
