Mr Footlong wrote:Right, the OE front discs are on backorder so I am getting twitchy. I was looking at MRC's bookface page and seeing what mods/power results were coming up for these on average and noticed one with the Performance Friction 380mm disc upgrade. I can't see Loba doing a kit on their site for these.

I have done a quick search on here but not loads of results came up really. Seeing as mine are already warped to buggery, I don't know the car so I don't know if she is one of the ones with the rare repeat disc warping problem, I am contemplating jumping to 380mm for the hell of it.

If I get the kit I will swap out the fluid for super blue and stick braided hoses on one time.

Does anyone with experience on here have any input on this kit? The money is very strong compared with OE and it is money that I shouldn't be spending right now but I cannot resist my modding urge, it is who I am.... Thanks.
Forget the ceramics for now guys, my question remains.

I've got some old B7 disks you can have. Not warped. Not sure how much meat is on them. Might tide you over.

I have only seen the warning about the squeaking when used in combination with their pads unless you know otherwise Sam? I will be using the Yellows on them if I go ahead.

Shopp, thanks for the offer, do you have a set of calipers around?

Give 'em an inch...

What's wrong with your calipers? Got my C5 calipers. Should be the same. Can't have 'em though. ;)

footlong i cant tell you anything about the performance friction discs other than they are a fortune!, but LOBA do a set of front discs for the b7 about £1200. i have them and run them with ds2500, they are a marked improvement over OEM.

Sar, OE diameter or larger? I am guessing OE. If I was going down the road of £1200 for Loba, I would rather throw a few hundred pounds more at something that looked more pimp tbh.

Lol. I genuinely thought you were after my Brembos. I'll go and measure the disks.

yes mate standard size, in fact they are a few mill smaller so you dont get the lip on the edge.
the problem with going more pimp on the front-380mm is that the rear discs look even less pimp than they already do!.

Those should be fine for a few thousand miles, min TH is 32mm if I remember rightly.

Not used the Performance Friction stuff Mr FL, I'm just concious that spending that sort of wedge on a kit which a trusted outfit warns about squealing is a road to fustration. That should be shaken out in the development stage of the product. Anyway, £2k is a nice little dent in the Supercharger cost.

Who was the trusted outfit? MRC themselves mention it on their website, was it another fitter? From their page - "This brake upgrade uses pads which can squeal"

Shopp, having a quick think thanks. Went to measure the discs here but they have the annoying disc guards fitted, for now........ If they are 34mm stock then these are well below 32 imo.

Put some phaeton discs on your bells and put some unrated pads in , they will munch the discs to buggery anyway unless lady footers is going tracking too
