Has anybody tried ceramic coating the headers and possibly the pre cats??
No idea if they are a mojor source of heat on the RS4 but would have thought every bit helps!

What about a tweaked coolant thermostat to being the engine temp down. IIRC it starts opening at 87 degrees. Could have through you could have got one that knocks it down a bit to say 80-82?

I did this with my Golf Rallye and it brought the water temps down from 1/2 on the gauge to 1/4 and also dropped the oil temps

I'm 'building' a spare engine so I'll look at coating the headers

Cheers, I used a company in tamworth to do the coatings on my track car and I wasn't overly impressed with the finished product

Not knowing anything about these coatings, I must ask... can you paint your GruppeM or Revolution's invention with the stuff and save the hassle and expense of coating the hot engine parts instead?

Not really - ceramic coating process involves high heat IIRC.
Anyway, ceramic coatings are designed to keep heat in.. not quite the same as keeping heat out.
You'd be better off using the thermal reflective wrap which does have an effect on radiated heat but can't stop inductive heat.

Hi All

We finally have a built up a kit ready to test....!

I'm off on holiday 2morrow for a weeks driving around Italy with the boys doing a "Geordie version of the Mille Miglia"
Basically its 2000 miles in a week...in a minibus...and I'm driving...!

So we need a donor RS4 for 24/48hrs of fit check and carry out before & after rolling road tests as soon as possible.

As some of you are aware, we are using Pipercross for the filtration side of this kit (they are based in Northampton so pretty central) and they will take care of the RS4.
Whats in it for you...an amazing price on the fitted kit or if you prefer a free panel filter and of course a free dyno session.

I've literally got to leave the office in an hour so if anyone is interested please call Pipercross's sales manager direct on the following number and they will do the rest:
T: 01604 707760
James Pearman

Thanks in advance
or should I say Grazie mille..!
