I imgaine it also depends on what they use to clean the carbon off and how much physically chargeable labour time is needed to clean the residue from chemical cleaning off. Isn't AMD's hourly charge less than MRC's as well?

I see £500 inc vat for a remap incl RR before and after

Says nothing about a carbon clean - where are people seeing this?

I want a clean with RR plots but not interested in remap, would be good if there is a Southern alternative to MRC

scrap that - just read the link

The price for the decoke on the 4.2 V8 engines is £499.95inc vat with before and after rolling road runs.

so £500 without remap - very reasonable so will be giving them a call

That is good
MRC are around £1k, so £500 with before and after RR's is decent value and you can see the results too
Almost worth trekking to Essex for :)

That sounds very reasonable. Last time I checked it's about 8 hours just to do the cleaning for the average joe (not including manifold removal and reinstall, which in itself could take you almost as long). Factor in the pro factor, and the potential to bust flaps on your IM, rendering it useless...I think that's money well spent.

Would suggest a spark plug change while you're in there.

it still feels quick... as it did before the clean, but i did have the CAF done at the same time so maybe a mixture of both..had a couple of blasts with a 46 m3 and the 4 was alot quicker which surprised me really...had a run side by side with a m5 from say 80 to 130 and he was pulling away and he was three up..
