I rang around this evening and all 9 Shell stations local to me bar one have no fuel whatsoever. The one that does, the one I filled at on Friday which is 144.9 unleaded and 156.9 V-Power Since when is V-Power 12p/litre more expensive than unleaded?

Tesco had no Momentum and BP and Esso's also limited supplies but none with super unleaded anywhere.

P_G, then only local V Power I could find tonight was the coast road. Eye watering prices (1.56 I think?). Guy at the till with a smirk on his face. Filled up + filled a few containers in case there's any silliness over the next few weeks. I'll never buy from there again.

I was at the same one last night. Asked them why V-power at their station was 12p/litre more than unleaded when national average is 8p and he looked blank. Filled up with just shy of £20 and when I was walking away asked if I wanted my penny change to which I replied "you've ripped me off already, what difference do you think 1p will make".

The RS is now in the garage for 3 weeks so hopefully when it comes out and needs refilling the madness will have ended. Have you been driving around with roof bars on your car recently Stu? Seen a Daytona saloon twice (once on Saturday on Collingwood Street around midday and then this morning going past said Shell station towards the Coast), window open on both occassions.

The petrol station do not make much of a profit and one station to get a delivery had to pay over the odds. There may well be a bit of making hay whilst the sun shines but ultimately the blame lays at panic buying. The goverment has done all wright out of this fiasco. The unions have shown that they can bring the country to a halt and if you run a RS4 then you have been truly :assflash:

No, not me but I have been on errands in that neck of woods (my day off).

Mine's an avant but I'll forgive you for not realising. You've only seen me in your rear view mirror, taking the heat from unmarked cop cars! :D

Thursday night had to pop down to put some fuel in after seeing all the sillness going on, my DIS was showing 5 miles range.

Only one pump working with Esso 95 - Super and Diesle sold out.

Dont like running her on 95 so only put £30 in - saw me through the weekend.

Local Garage had a delivery on Saturday, but didnt put any in just in case any muck on the bottom of the tanks had been kicked up.

Hopefully by this weekend the sillyness has stopped and fuel is available properly again.

Filled mine up end of last week, plus a few gallons in the shed, just in case *
Hopefully I wont be tempted to decant it in the kitchen, whilst standing next to the oven.... or whatever it was that silly tart did.

Last time I looked (Sunday), the very busy Shell garage at Jct21 on the M25 was still selling the good sh*t.
They had of course rammed the prices up.... but heh, they're all franchisees so I guess they bound to rip us off whenever they can.
Personally I don't blame the government for the short supply, I blame the retards that panic buy.

* So I don't have to join yet another queue.

speaking to my wife (as i'm offshore trying to get more out of the ground) seems pritty unaffected up here i think moist pepole have just ignored the threats as she has only seen a few numptys filling jerry cans which IMO is causing the shortages down south also the feckless mp that endorsed the hording of petrol

I felt very muddled on my own views on hoarding petrol. The ethical arguments behind something like this are great fun if you're that way inclined. Sense of yourself, family, community, and the population as a whole can be pondered on until the cows come home. I'm a little cynical about the behaviours on a population level when stuff this this happens. Ignorance, fear and chaos are some words that spring to mind! Everyone who wants to could argue why they deserve petrol more than others. Pissing matches could ensue. I think it's safe to presume that that's the way a lot of us are. Multiply that by a very large number and less than positive outcomes result.

Personally, my stance is this: I can't modify the behaviours of everyone else outside of me. That stupid feckless MP and the fear churning press have done that. The result may affect me if fuel supplies only got a hell of a lot worse than it is now.

So… I'm keeping a stash: not for now, but for the next month or so of this potential silliness. I do however feel a pang of guilt, but that's just the way I'm wired.

Why can't someone clever will think up a way to prevent things like this happening in future? Not so much in changing the behaviour of such a large number of people - that just doesn't work - but more the logistical, engineering and legal mechanisms involved?

Yours, Numpty!! :bigwave:

Well I (rather public spiritedly I think) didn't fill up until Sunday eve, only to find just about every petrol station out of fuel, was lucky a Shell garage had recently had a (previosuly scheduled) delivery but only std petrol, still it got me to my meeting today at least ! Chap in garage said when the UL ran out they just started using V-Power, he didn't hold out much hope for getting V-Power anytime soon as said the refinery capacity had all been switched to Std to catch back up with demand.

I'm off out to search for fuel, if I don't get any. There is no way I'll make it to work tomorrow, and it's paramount I get 99 RON as MRC are mapping my car on Thursday.

99 Ron as all ran out locally. Don't know when they will have some more. Had to use a bit of 95 RON to get to work but then found a tesco express with 97 Ron to fill up.
