I have just called Aberdeen Audi about the SW0090 update the chap on the phone hadnt heard about it and told me i would have to pay £75 for a diagnositc check prior to any updates being installed. My car isnt under warranty. Has anyone had this work done at Aberdeen Audi and if so who should i speak with about it?

The problem is noticable on my car especially now the weather is getting that bit colder, however I'm certain the problem remains even when warm especially with stop / start town driving.

any info appreciated

Glasgow hadn't heard of it either, but they know now...
They did mine for free but they were trying to make up for earlier errors by doing so.
They had been saying that they were RS specialists, etc etc which made me ask directly that if that were the case, why didn't they know about a software update to an RS car?
In Glasgow's defence, the service manager said he didn't know but would look into it.
If Aberdeen have any pride at all, try to make them feel a bit daft and say that other Scottish dealers are on the case. Maybe do a bit of phoning round first, Perth, Edinburgh, whatever. Well, maybe not Perth, they really are idiots.

Sorry, I meant Stirling are idiots, never been to the Perth dealer.

Speak to the service manager at Glasgow, see what he says. His staff aren't the brightest...
For the sake of a tank of petrol you could drop the car off there for the day and get some Xmas shopping in...

Is it worth having the SW00090 update and then having the car remapped or doesn't it matter?

I think the tuners maps usually incorporate the Audi updates so it is probably not worth the bother, just be sure not to let Audi overwrite the tuners map although given the grief everyone is having to get updates that doesn't sound likely...

My car came with SW0050 and the updates to SW0080 and SW0090 have been done by Audi dealers without question, and without charge.

Any dealer saying you have to pay is lying through their teeth, probably through ignorance (many can't be ar*sed to read the circulars that Audi UK send to all dealers).
