Changed my mind... at least for now.

Will be keeping hold of my baby for a little while longer and if all goes to plan a lot longer.

I have a few mods I would like to do before letting her go, so by the end of the year, I will hopefully have an improved RS4 rather than no RS4.

I think people will start keeping rather than selling, ride out this transient (fingers crossed) blipp in petrol prices.. Gadaffi's forces are weakening, according to Will Hague! If more people hold on, the supply will reduce and people will get what they should get. I've recently made same decision to keep for another year at least, ride out the petrol prices and enjoy having the thing, despite a few extra pounds at the pumps. Insurance - it was only double what I was paying on a 1 litre bashed up micra... one of the reasons I was convinced to buy it! :D

The prices being suggested just made it an unattractive prospect to sell. If I could have got say £28k then I would have regrettably let her go with a view to purchasing one again in a year when my personal situation was a little more certain but at £25k, it just wasn't worth while and it would make me sick to let something I cherish go for so little.

It isn't so much the cost of running for me as I accepted that when I bought it. It was more a way of releasing a reasonable amount of funds quickly but as I said it would be sad to let it go for £28k, so £3k less was just not something I could live with.

I would rather hang on a bit longer and see how my other 'irons in the fire' pan out and accept a smaller more regular influx of funds rather than a larger instant one.

It is certainly a buyers market at the moment though, so if there are any lurkers looking to buy at the moment, jump on because now is the time. Just consider the cost of fuel, insurance, tax and maintenance because far too many fall into this trap once a high end car falls below the £25k barrier.
