Too true its a sad time when you can't enjoy what you have worked hard to get without looking over your shoulder.

Haha, yeah, but has to get noticed in the first place...
No badges (front and rear), no alu mirrors, no buckets, no FBSW, no Nav, no loud Milltek.
Shame any of us need to worry about possible theft of course...
I see what you mean although I am not sure black optics are as discreet as matt aluminium as most A4s are shiny, only interesting ones are black but as you say pity we have to worry.

I live on a fairly quite road and it is not a main route or a short cut, not even on a bus route, so someone was driving around looking for a number of cars I guess, I must say I have thought about de-badging the car and may do this if the nerves do not hold out. One of the reasons I bought the car after the M3 was that it was understated and a lot of people are not aware of what it is , only the real car enthusiasts and of course the wrong type of people I am affraid.
Just have to wait now and hope that a return visit is not planned.

Unfortunately this is what makes is desirable to criminals, the ability to blend in but outrun most police cars with a decent driver.

Try not to worry too much, there is only so much you can do, there was a spate in my road recently. They haven't come back so far. It does under standardly put you on edge though.

I had serious thoughts of getting one. Settled for a baseball bat instead.

To the OP, really sorry to hear that. Its 1 thing to nick it and another in trying to nick it to violate your personal/family space. That's prob 1 of the hardest things to come to terms with.

On a separate note, without the key how hard is to nick 1 of these cars??

Talking to some CID officers from Birmingham last year they were saying that the more discreet the RS4 the more likely it is to be selected for a getaway car - they like the ability to not 'stick out' to traffic officers and 'hide' in queues, car parks etc A lesson learned from trying to evade capture in bright blue subarus with gold wheels and a rear fin!

Also confirmed the point about helicopter pursuit.....

Professional thieves are obviously reading Arthur's posts then 8)
Do you know my car is really coked up and I couldn't get away from a G-Wiz today......

Or just buy a red rs4 as red is seen as bad luck in the criminal world!

Where you live is both good and bad.
Busy road means more likely to be spotted but scum don't liketo much attention so may mean less chance of anything happening.
Likewise a quite road means less chance of initially getting spotted but if you are then it's more likely to have someone take more of an interest.
Op- I think you'll be fine. If there's one thing scum don't like is dogs so 2 big ones are going to put them right off.

One of my mates has just bought a 911 turbo and has installed one of those metal barrier/ramps that lowers when you swipe a card past it. He's also used a version of his old bike anchor (cemented into the floor) which he has attached to the rear axle by a bloody great chain.

Sounds good but if they're breaking into your house to take your keys then all measures are pretty much useless.

Fingers crossed for all of us - I've wanted an RS for 12 years and I'd be devastated if it went awol.
