The RS4 will break the speed limit so easily you might not notice.
the C1 has to be ragged to within an inch of it's life (which in a strange way also makes it fun to drive since you have to work at it) which means it's easy to not notice that you've ragged it over the limit.
So a small low powered car is not necessarily a licence saver.
Only had her 4 months but time to get out....
tell it like it is...not the car, but the driveraidanjaye wrote:Yep, got done for 88 mph on motorway yesterday so can see Tartan Robs views.....although got to admit even a polo 1.2 I had as a hire car managed to nudge 100 mph so a change of car to keep your licence clean might not be a option.
I mean really, blaming the car, an inanimate object, for our actions?
it's like we don't have control over it...
a 2 ton metal box hurtling down the road under it's own volition, lol

Ahh, but you don't notice it because you're so busy ragging the little bu**er and being deafened by the combination of wind, tyre and engine noise!Sims wrote:Well sort of yes... the C1 will not make such silly speeds so quickly, and as you say it's hard work and you would normally notice it..
65mph is just as "exciting" as speeds the wrong side of the national speed limit.
Anyone else remember how "exciting" 50mph was in an original 998cc Mini running on 10" wheels?
I've has as much fun in my 'old' BMW 2002 as any car I've ever had...PetrolDave wrote:Ahh, but you don't notice it because you're so busy ragging the little bu**er and being deafened by the combination of wind, tyre and engine noise!Sims wrote:Well sort of yes... the C1 will not make such silly speeds so quickly, and as you say it's hard work and you would normally notice it..

and it would do 'only' 115 mph
50 mph on back country roads felt sweet

Just drop the personal stuff, it does you a dis-service.
BTW what cars have you had between your 848cc Mini and now?
I'll share my car history if you share yours.
glad I'm not the only one who perceived it that way
