Potenzas on mine too - no problems with noise, tramlining and grips very good.
Goodyear F1s aren't what they used to be , I have seen loads go out of shape with massive flat sports barely half worn.

I like the Conti's, having said that the Vredestein's are on the radar for the next change...I've heard nothing but good things about them, exceptional in the wet...
P_G wrote:I guess a lot depends on what type of driving you do on whether you require ultimate grip or economy. The concensus on here appears to be Michelin PS2's and Goodyear F1's. P Zero's and traditionally a soft tyre, Continentals don't last long and have poor grip half way through their life.

Personally I am using Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas. I have just passed the 21,000 mile mark on them and they have between 3.5 and 4 mm of tread left in them although I will say that their ultimate grip is beginning to fade a little / they are squealing in pain.

Saying that though 'ultimate grip' is me throwing the car into a roundabout at 70mph on a dual carriageway and expecting it just to grip. The car still far outperforms most other cars on the road bar EVO's and Scooby's on normal bends for corner entry and carry through speed. Just that the Vredesteins used to have a higher level of grip.

Taken into context though they will last 25+K miles and not many tyres if at all any will match that on an RS4 and they were only £680 fitted for 4. That and they are excellent in the wet and the best summer tyre I have ever driven on in the snow because of the tread pattern.

Is that recent? The F1 Assymetrics I had prior to my Vredesteins lasted 19K miles and were faultless.

Camskill will mail order them to you, you just need a local fitter who won't take the hump with you having sourced your own tyres.

Last time I bought 275/30 R19's it was £620 for 4 including delivery plus £40 fitting and balancing since I supplied the TPMS valves.

Sims/MikeD:

Do you have preferred places where you bought your PS2s from?

I can recommend both Denmead Tyres in Waterlooville (Darren there is very helpful and enthusiastic), and Micheldever Tyres (I've been going there for nearly 30 years). Both good on price, good on service and careful with your wheels!

The Vredesteins have just passed 23k miles and still have 3.5 mm tread on them all round. Currently at Camskill at £668 for 4, even PS2's wouldn't get close to the pence per mile cost of these.

Prob those dodgy ones from the far east that merged on the market.

My Eagle F1s have been faultless so far. 12 Laps of the Ring, 140 laps Silverstone, 260 Laps of Brands and 5k norm road use, and still legal and still plenty of grip, And yes I was driving her hard

However I am looking to experiment.

Thanks for all the replies!

Why would i need new TPMS valves? I had owned a A4 with the TPM system before and replacing the valves never came up.

They corrode, the thread part breaks off when filling with air.
