I'm just about to renew with More Than. c£700 with 6 points & full NCB in London. Can't grumble really.

The motor insurance market is in a real state, having suffered from over capacity & sheer incompetance (IMHO). They need to get back to making a (small) profit and that's why most insurers are increasing their rates this year. Always worth shopping round though.

No brainer for me.
Never heard of them but will certainly take a look when my renewal comes around - thanks!

Can't guarantee they are best for all, but another option is not a bad thing.

+1, my quote is also cheaper if the car is left on the driveway. But surely its more likely to be nicked than if it was in a locked garage overnight?

This year's premium had gone up 60% (!) with my existing company.

I can't use More Than because they won't touch modified cars (Miltek exhaust), so tried Adrian Flux, and they came up with a decent offer keeping the price around the same as last years c.700 quid. The insurance is actually with Aviva.

Also, the guy on the phone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Recommended.

Richie, a bit academic now but what sort of Milltek do you have. If it is a cat back then you could have stayed with MoreThan. It takes some explaining to them but their policy is that if a modicifaction increases the 'performance / acceleration' of the car then they won't touch it. But a cat back won't.

I have my x-pipe, Goodridge hoses, EBC Yellowstuff brakes and Hotchkis Sway Bars all declared on my MoreThan policy as they are deemed to enhance the safety of the car (except the x-pipe of course, that is just for noise!)

I tried MoreThan also last week and they rejected on account of the Tubi, went with Aviva in the end also and they were very good for listing mods.

Don't forget that price isn't everything. What's arguably more important is what happens when you actually make a claim!

AFAIK, driveway quotes are only cheaper for post codes where thefts are statistically low in the first place.

P_G, this is going to sound a bit daft but I'm not exactly sure; the exhaust was already on the car when I bought it, and the Audi dealership didn't seem to know much except that it was stainless steel and more noisy than the standard exhaust.

I've had a look underneath and can see two cylindrical chambers, so I know it's resonated, but apart from that I don't know any more about it.
The RS4 is my first proper car, so I'm a complete noob when it comes to mods & exhaust systems etc.

Although I should definitely learn more if it's going to save me money on insurance!

I'm with Admiral - about £250 with max NCB. I also have the multicar discount which I think gives me a further 10% off.

Girlfriend's TTS went up from £400 to £750 in the second year for no apparent reason, 'they' had a lot of claims last year and need to recover some costs.........she's happy to know that she insures her car with a company that cant run their business.

Another vote for Admiral here.

I insure our 3 cars through the multicar policy, they are fine with any modifications (small increase), very very competative, and not insistent with a tracker or garaging.

As much as i have been promoting MoreThan I would like to rescind that. Was looking around at prices using the details on my last policy, MoreThan via Confused.com was quoting £594 including legal cover. Great.

However today my renewal came through. £860. They've added the claim for a new windscreen this year. So put that into to Confused.com and now MoreThan won't quote via that site. Went to moneysupermarket.com and they did for Morethan; £820. So because I had a new windscreen and paid the £60 excess on it my premium has gone up £220+. So windscreen cost £280 in total.

Robbing barstewards. Now looking around.
